Gar_GT4
I changed my belt etc the other day using genuine Toyota parts except the belt which was a greddy one..used the same stuff on my 1jz chasers and had no issues...anyway when I started it I could hear a belt squeaky and a bit noisy and assumed it was the aux belt..so I drove it home and that's when the rad went so didn't drive it until today after fitting the rad and the noise started again..so popped off the aux belt and the noise stayed in it and popped off the covers to have a look and the belt seems to be ok and running fine but there is definetly something not right...everything is pointing towards a dodgey idler pulley but just want to make sure before I pull it apart again. Thanks
absz
Did you compress the Hydraulic Tensioner and inserted a pin into it before refitting? Pin is then pulled out to tension Belt

Swampy442
Maybe its the belt itself thats noisy and not the tensioner?
