Scott
I understand that bud but some basic checks could have the problem narrowed down in 10 minutes. As Chris said earlier, bridge the pump connections, disconnect the main line from the fuel filter and briefly turn the ignition on while spraying the fuel into a clean container (so that you can pour it back in if you wish). It should gush out big style. That will show no issue with the fuel pump. I would even consider doing it from the other side of the fuel filter so that you can rule it out, blocked filters are fairly rare but it does happen. Checking for spark is fairly straight forward. Pull all the plugs, pull the EFI fuses and make sure you don't have the pump bridged. connect one of the plugs up to one of your coil packs and see if you can get a spark off of an earth (block or body is fine). Just be sure there isn't any fuel or oil spilled around the place Check each coilpack using their individual connection. If they all spark and it's a strong spark then that side of things is fine. Doing these checks SHOULD let you know where the issue lies. If you still can't find fault with the system then I guess it's potentially an injector fault. I've never got that far though as I've always found it to either be the coil packs, the coil pack plugs, the spark plugs or the ignitor. I've never had or dealt with any fuel issues at all. Cam sensors and crank sensor comes into play next, along with the coolant temperature sensor (I had issues with the lower sensor when I first tried to start my car after re-build. It wouldn't start at all and I was scratching my head for ages. I may be wrong but I would have thought they would throw codes? Tricky-Ricky
Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator? if faulty it could be simply allowing fuel to return directly to the tank and not building any pressure. Maybe hook up a guage to test.
listy
Cheers guys. More things to check when I have the time. What I'm not understanding is that it started before I changed the pump (albeit not for very long) but now I've changed it it won't start at all. That's why I'm thinking it's something I've done that may be the issue now. I'll start by double checking what I've done with the pump, and if that doesn't work, I'll start making my way down the list.
