David P
Maybe double whammy would be a better option? listy
Is it ok to gamble here? if it is, I'd bet my left nipple that it's just the battery that's gone dead... take out a battery and take it to the nearest shop. they should be able to easily check if it's healthy... Battery is fine. It starts, just dies. Plus I tried a spare charged battery before I got it recovered to no avail. So, where and when can I collect this left nipple - - - Updated - - - Wrong that Ian, he's pushed the red button It's a manual....I have no red button

Swampy442
Fuel pump ECU. Bridge the ports B+ and Fp in the diagnostic port, see if it fires up/
listy
Well, today is finally the day to investigate. Can someone remind me which ports to bridge to pull error codes please.
Josh42
Well, today is finally the day to investigate. Can someone remind me which ports to bridge to pull error codes please. E1 and TE1 are the diagnostics ports mate
listy
Cheers Josh. Hoping something simple is the cause. Fingers crossed.
listy
Right. Discovered over the two weeks the Supra has been sat that the battery has died. Bridged E1 and TE1 and comes up no stored codes. I'm guessing this is because the ECU has reset itself since the battery died. Any ideas where to go from here?
David P
Charge the battery.
listy
I'm not that silly David I put another battery in and pulled the (lack of) error codes. I can't run it to process error codes as it doesn't run. At a bit of crossroads right now. I have had a thought though.... VSS need doing, is it possible that oil has pooled in the spark plug wells and is stopping a spark? Therefore no ignition. I think removing the plugs and giving it all a good clean out will be my first port of call. List of possibilities I have: Map sensor hose Ignition related (injectors?/plugs?/coil pack clips?/coil packs?) Fuelling (pump?/blocked lines?/filter?) ECU Any other ideas? It won't even rough idle now. The engine tries, shakes a bit and dies.
David P
It would have been easier to look at the MAP sensor hose than to post that you haven't. Edited August 9, 2015 by David P (see edit history)
Josh42
It would have been easier to look at the MAP sensor hose than to post that you haven't. This, check the map sensor, faulty earths and obvious things first mate
listy
I'll check the map sensor later after the football
listy
MAP sensor looks fine. All hoses etc where they should be. That can be crossed off the list.
Chris Wilson
If it's got an FCD remove or bypass it. Forget oil or oil in the plug wells, won't be that. Check hoses / T's to the MAP sensor. Fit new plugs and try again.
David P
MAP sensor looks fine. All hoses etc where they should be. Suck it and see. By which I mean to suck the end of the MAP sensor hose to check there are no vacuum leaks.
listy
No FCD fitted. I have no time left today so after work tomorrow I'll pull the plugs.
listy
Well, I've managed to check absolutely nothing due to another incident involving a CAT Digger and my front wing. Can someone remind me the best way to check the fuel pump? Iirc turn the key to the last position (before turning over) and you should be able to hear it prime? What sound am I looking for? RobUK
You can bridge 2 pins in the diag port to turn the pump on, can't remember which though
Chris Wilson
I *THINK* it's B+ and FP but I have been to the pub...
Scott
As above, it's B+ & FP. They're pretty close to each other (1 pin between).
listy
Thanks guys. Hoping to have a look this week so when it comes back from being repaired after the builder incident I can crack on and get her running again.
