Is it ok to gamble here? :D if it is, I'd bet my left nipple that it's just the battery that's gone dead... :D take out a battery and take it to the nearest shop. they should be able to easily check if it's healthy...

Battery is fine. It starts, just dies. Plus I tried a spare charged battery before I got it recovered to no avail.

So, where and when can I collect this left nipple :eyebrows:

  • 2 weeks later...

Right. Discovered over the two weeks the Supra has been sat that the battery has died. Bridged E1 and TE1 and comes up no stored codes. I'm guessing this is because the ECU has reset itself since the battery died.

Any ideas where to go from here?

I'm not that silly David

I put another battery in and pulled the (lack of) error codes. I can't run it to process error codes as it doesn't run. At a bit of crossroads right now.

I have had a thought though....

VSS need doing, is it possible that oil has pooled in the spark plug wells and is stopping a spark? Therefore no ignition.

I think removing the plugs and giving it all a good clean out will be my first port of call.

List of possibilities I have:

Map sensor hose

Ignition related (injectors?/plugs?/coil pack clips?/coil packs?)

Fuelling (pump?/blocked lines?/filter?)

ECU

Any other ideas?

It won't even rough idle now. The engine tries, shakes a bit and dies.

Well, I've managed to check absolutely nothing due to another incident involving a CAT Digger and my front wing.

Can someone remind me the best way to check the fuel pump? Iirc turn the key to the last position (before turning over) and you should be able to hear it prime? What sound am I looking for?
