parasight
So I popped into Tesco to tank up, and when I started up, it just went click. No turning over. This happened a couple of times, and then the engine and oil lights completely went out. They came back after a few minutes, and the same clicking again. But no cranking, and then the lights went out again. They haven't come back. Volt meter shows 12v, car was starting fine until now, didn't seem like the starter was on its last legs. One of my aftermarket meters still gets a faint glow so there's some.juice coming through. Any idea what this could be? Worst possible time ever, considering I'm moving house this weekend. Currently sat in the rain waiting for breakdown services.

Mike2JZ
Poor earth from one of the engine/body earth points Thats what I would suggest. The easiest places to check are the battery terminals, and in the driver footwell there is a 10mm bolt holding in some earths. Edit: Both of which in the past have caused my supra to cut out when either the negative battery connection came loose, or that 10mm bolt came slightly loose. parasight
Literally happened in five minutes, and it's never happened before. I'll check the battery terminals and the footwell. Anything else it could be? EDIT - After a while the alarm / immobiliser LED started flashing again, but when I turned the key it went back to square one. parasight
Yup, turned out to be a loose ground. Checked when the rain stopped, and all seems ok for now. Thanks for the advice, guys.
