crock
I'm traveling down London on Thursday for a day trip (500+ mile round trip seems excessive but I've done it before and the supra just eats miles so distance isn't really and issue) decided for the price of a half decent hotel in Kensington, would be better spent towards a holiday abroad or maybe dragonball v2 ? i have a couple of questions for the locals i know parking in London is an issue at the best of times, i'm curious to see if anyone has any recommendations for secure parking suitable for the Supra? preferable as close to the Victoria and Albert museum as possible. As far as traffic goes i know this is also chaos compared to the quiet country roads in the north! but how bad would i expect Edgware road then down Park lane to be at say 7/7:30 in the morning? i'm hoping that i'll miss the many hours of rush hour traffic that London suffers? Cheers in advance Crock
Mike2JZ
My only thoughts on London is parking prices are bloody ridiculous, and don't follow Google Maps blindly. Took me down some roads last time I was there that had mini mountains for speed bumps, never again! Then again I'm a London noob

Abz
Honestly not worth it, will still be a lot of traffic as folks drive into London and then if you are leaving later in the evening then you'll catch the traffic coming out. Not so bad in an auto but not great fun in a 6 speed!! I avoid driving when their is traffic, much easier to catch a train & relax on the way down. You'll see plenty of fancy cars anyway. Ferrari's are a dime a dozen here!

Ferrari's are a dime a dozen here! I understand what you are saying, i spent alot of time in london last year/the year before i use to commute via train fortnightly wasn't bad at all watching a film or two on my ipad and the flat i was staying at was near angel so just a short walk from kings cross However driving gives me the freedom to go elsewhere on the return leg if by chance the mood takes me, so im pretty much set on driving, plus leaving it so late means the train price is high its half the price to travel via car even in the supra I really dont find the clutch in the supra bad at all, i've driven central london a couple of times now around the holborn area and obviously getting there from the a1 Suppose i'll cross my fingers and hope for the best the last time i drove to london it took over 7 hours due to getting stuck on the m1 due to a lorry fire, baking in the supra in 30+ degrees wasnt much fun Not doubting your opinion in anyway by that, just its kind of a case of drive or not go now, i've already booked the exibition, i've got 10 days off work and nothing better to do
Nick
I've used Secure a Spot before to prebook and that was a lot cheaper than the standard rate. I tried to use JustPark but their site had crashed, but they have a lot more spaces.
mellonman
working as a lift engineer in london for the passed 15 years , I would agree with abz london is just a pain in the butt , parking is rediculous around the area you want to go , edgeware road is the longest stop start traffic i have ever incounted but that was from a job an colindale which is almost all the way at the end . 7:00 - 7:30 is bang in rush hour/s hell that road is bad all day long , I bet the last 5 miles along edgeware road / park street will take you around 1 hour
Shane
Ncp in either Kinerton St or Cadogan Place car parks will cost around 40quid for 12 hours and both are a tube ride away from the V&A. Edgeware Rd and Park lane are busy but OK at those times, any later and its busy.Am away this week and next, if I was at work I may have been able to help you as based in that area and have access to a few spaces at times, back as of 5th Aug tho. Hitbox Junkie
I drive into London around this time for work allot and to be honest id never want to take a supra there. speed bumps small roads people don't care, no parking or very little, tiny roads, congestion, best off parking outside and getting the train in or just avoid it altogether or find a old peoples home and park in there car park

crock
Cheers for the input even if ignored you all It was a reasonably pleasent drive, a1 was dead the whole way, then my sat nav took me through some housing estates rather than edgware road, so missed alot of the traffic, The worst traffic of the day was me stupidly deciding to drive down park lane and oxford street, completely worth it though, Got to see a enzo, a pagani haurya, aventador a 1300whp gt2 911 They dont half like the mad colours and chrome! Fitz
If I'd have known you was going down Oxford Street I would have kept an eye out, my office overlooks Oxford Street
