Ric
Tom Tom app on your phone with europe maps. done. Doesn't need internet on your phone just uses the GPS chip and the maps are loaded on the phone, navigation, anywhere you have your phone, i dont even know why people would buy a 2nd unit. You can't import GPX's directly into the app, but theres other ways of doing it with POI's and favourites.
Supraleeturbo
Yes but can you load the file that is given for the route ? And I wanted a brand new unit not a second hand one
Branners
TomTom XXL Europe is the standard one we use. I'm hoping to get a Garmin soon (but finding it hard to choose from their overly extensive range) and then start building routes for Garmin as TomTOm have told me they dont support itinerary files on their new models and never will. Which sort of kills us using TomTOm.
Supraleeturbo
So we are both in the same spot of bother then ?
Branners
I do have a TomTom XXL already so I can take itinerary files, just their newer ones wont.
Hitbox Junkie
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-2599LMT-D-Lifetime-Updates-Bluetooth/dp/B00KREXNM6/ref=sr_1_3?&ie=UTF8&qid=1437414514&sr=8-3&keywords=garmin+sat+nav Pretty sure you can upload to that one but I haven't tried as I don't have it. but this is the one I will be looking at getting this year for the next years dragoon ball as I doubt the car will be ready for dragon ball v2 . If you do select one can you let us know Edit I think all Garmins can accept map files http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B2183bd60-bf34-11de-c454-000000000000%7D

Chris Bailey
So after speaking with garmin all there models do it and the model my dad has does so that's that problem solved Thats not correct. We borrowed a Garmin sat nav from my sister and it didnt take the files. Even ScottC looked at it and agreed it wouldnt take the files. Worth checking and not leaving it last minute. baldy
Lee, you could always put your foot on the gas n try keeping up with the others instead of using sat nav:p
