Dnk
Is it worth paying the extra £12 for the club lounge on P&O Ferries ?
T2 MSW
The restaurants are better and its a pleasant place to be but I don't find the regular parts that bad for the 1.5 hrs your on there. Where you off too? Ive found all ferries to france specifically ridiculously expensive recently and the train much better value for money. Dnk
I'm stopping in Dover over night on the way out so won't need anything special going but after the long drive back I thought it might be better to have dinner etc in the club lounge if its a lot better than the regular part. I'm driving down to Lloret de Mar just across the French Spanish boarder
T2 MSW
id be looking at eurostar prices and going to a decent restaurant on either side personally
Dnk
Prices to get the car down to the south of France unless i'm reading the info wrong look expensive. Paris - Narbonne is over £200 each way
Dnk
id be looking at eurostar prices and going to a decent restaurant on either side personally On the way out I wont bother and just get down there with fuel and coffee stops, I'd do that on route back but I leave Barcelona airport at 20:00 hrs so the bulk of the trip back will be in the early hours of Sunday morning I think i'll risk the £12 and see what it's like
T2 MSW
Ahh your getting the P&O to mid France rather than Calais? Wow just looked at the price if you go this month - Jesus!!!! Ive only ever booked the train in advanced, Im going in Sept for £40 each way!
Dnk
I'm doing Dover Calais. You don't save enough going to Caen for the extra cost of the ferry, approx £150 more than Dover - Calais and your only shortening the round trip journey by 250 kms. Its around 6 hrs as well and i'd rather be driving that

I'm going to Holland tomorrow, and with the industrial action, my ferry to Calais has been cancelled, so they're diverting us to Dunkirk. Bit of a win, as I wanted to go via Dunkirk but they had fully booked! Hopefully it'll all be back to normal by then anyway.

I normally go France every Sept for a little break and Ferries are about £50 return. I have to go 1st August and the Ferry was £200!! Like you say I was shocked and looked at Eurotunnel which was £170 though with the £30 off from DB got it for £150!! Shocking price hike for school holidays. Benjy
I've just paid over £250 because it's july...
Dnk
I think everyone screws you in the school holidays My outbound is £45 and inbound £39 On the tunnel for the same dates and times its £80 outbound and £78 inbound so the ferries way cheaper
