Swampy442
What gets me is, not long ago fuel was plummeting towards a quid a litre, now its getting back to the previous price. Oil is 57 bucks a barrel, so why have fuel prices not dropped further. Greedy bastards, if in doubt rape the motorist.

Just shows you how fixed the prices are to benefit those in power. The tax income from fuel must be insane!! Remember 8p a litre in Riyadh! AJI
Diesel fuel took a large confidence knock a few months ago when some EU governments (ours included) for the first time noticed what everyone else mentioned ages ago, in that diesel contributes more to pollution than petrol does. (taking carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide out of the equation - if indeed carbon dioxide can ever be called a 'pollutant'). Diesel has for as long as I've known it always been cheaper than petrol in europe, only in the UK did it become more expensive than petrol - which I always found strange until I noticed just how many new car sales were becoming diesel. But the trend of diesel overtaking petrol prices started long before 2010 when diesel car sales overtook petrol for the first time. Fuel prices across the board should be much cheaper of course if the duty on it wasn't so high and on top of that there is little control by government to stop 'profiteering' by the forecourts/oil companies.
