They only have oil coolers when a turbo is fitted ;)

I wouldn't have fitted a turbo kit without one.

TT came with one as standard for a reason.

It's not expensive, so just do it for the good of the engine

hi buddy.

the ecu has a fcd built in

a boost gauge is nice to have but not essential

a afr again is good to have but not a must.

the mapper will have a boost gauge band afr monitor to map the car after this you should not attempt to adjust the values set. any gauges are purely for monitoring purposes

Hi Craig,

Very happy with your answer, not long now for my funds to arrive. You really know your stuff and are a good communicator.

I would like you to fit a boost gauge whichever you recommend. Ian.

Only the TT has the oil to water heat exchanger mounted between the oil filter and the block mounting. As stock an N/A does not have this exchanger, which is usually called a Modine, after one of the original makers of them.

:yeahthat:

The NA oil filter neck is also a nice mod for TT motors if you are removing the stock unit when fitting another cooler instead ;)

No worries, I don't think an oil to water heat exchanger was even an option on the N/A, at least I do not recall ever seeing one.

Hi Chris, Your on it as usual, a lot of things i am finding on the site is based on different experiences and you tend to stick to the basic tech info, many thanks.

I am having a NA/T conversion in mid to late August with Craig, (Dr Jekyll), he has many successful conversions under his belt and comes well recommended, good replies etc to tech questions and very competative costs.

I will see what he thinks re an oil cooler, thanks for your help. herbiemercman.
