Dim Sum
If you are planning to put a stock fan shroud back on. Then if it was me i just drive it without one for now. Save you the hassle in wiring up the electric fans.
Mike2JZ
+1 for running without the shroud unless you were planning on mounting the electric fans anyway
Swampy442
Ask yourself, what does a fan shroud do. Then bear in mind its summer. Do you live in a busy town/city? Do you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic? Running without a shroud is akin to engine suicide IMO.
Dnk
A brand new shroud from Toyota is a little over £100.
The Raven
I ran mine for over a year without one and never saw the temp move above the half way line. But then I don't think I ever sat in traffic

jza800
i have now decided to use the electric fan as i have to get the car running to next weekend, but can i use this way to wire it in, so when the switch is off the fans run by the org switch in the bottom off the radiator, and when i turn the switch on, i overide the switch and the fans turn on??? Dim Sum
I am not much of a electrical person. I recently installed one of these and the instructions were easy enough for me to follow. You can install a bypass switch but I didnt, everything is compact and most of all tidy. http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Electronic-Fan-Controller-Threaded-Fitting.html This is the fitting instruction I used. Chris Wilson
Repair or replace the shroud as soon as you can.
Dnk
Without a shroud the fan will spend more time just stirring the air up in the bay, with the shroud in place it will draw air through the rad far more efficiently than without
jza800
I want to mount the electric fans as o have to use the car to show this weekend, so cant get a hold in a replacement, so the electric must be better than without, there is a shrould to the electric fans.. so just the wirring i need help to
jza800
I now got my fans on, and put them to a switch inside the car, so i can turn them on manually
Chris Wilson
They are turning the right way, aren't they> I had a car which was overheating and they were blowing forward..... I have to say blocking the matrix with a plate like that is REALLY bad....
jza800
Yes when they turn on, they are blowing to the engine side, not intercooler side.. matrix do you mean radiator??? if yes i now so, but i have to use the car this weekend, and cant get a replacement to weekend.. thats why i had too
