Guest loughman
When the throttle is removed to carry out repairs, in this case to replace rocker gaskets and spark plugs, is it simply a case of bolting it back down into position or does it require to be reset, adjusted etc in some way. The throttle body was removed to carryout these repairs and after being reassembled the car has failed to run right. If it does need adjsuted reset etc i was wondering would any of you guys be kind enough to have some sort of a diagram to this affect. Mike2JZ
Removing the throttle body and the Y piece next to it is as simple as disconnecting all vac hoses, disconnect the TPS/ICV clips, loosen off the throttle cable & finally remove the 6-8 bolts holding in the thottle body and/or Y piece. Upon re-installing the above, make sure that all vac hoses have been reconnected. There are a few that aren't immediately visible on each side of the TB. Furthermore, make sure that once you have reconnected your throttle cable, remove the air filter piping to see that the throttle is actually shut when there is 0 throttle applied. If the throttle isn't sitting right, then your idle will be all over the shop when you start up the car. Can't think of any diagrams that may help, aside from the documentation and images that you will find in the 2JZ-GE (engine) repair manual listed on the sites homepage.
