Gaz6002
Another make of camera. They're not very reliable in my experience. I won't have another.
cered
I'm also looking to buy one for various shenanigans, are they unreliable or did he just have a dodgy one?
Mike2JZ
Another make of camera. They're not very reliable in my experience. I won't have another. Reliability has never been an issue with any of mine that I've used over the years. That said, you can find cheaper brands out there that do more or less the same thing. I really want to get a drift camera in the future. They are more aerodynamically shaped and as a result have less wind noise which ruins every single gopro vid out there unless an external mic is used. Gaz6002
I'm also looking to buy one for various shenanigans, are they unreliable or did he just have a dodgy one? While racing I had loads of problems with every one I've had, but I've also spoken to a few people who at one point were sponsored by the company, using around 40 cameras at a time. They're known to corrupt memory cards, which is one of the main issues, but also to switch off for what seems like no reason. You can't argue with the quality of their output, but if it switches off before your heroic overtake, that won't matter. Unfortunately that's what happened to me last time at Silverstone. Huge five-second drift through Copse corner to overtake someone. Got to pits to find it had stopped recording a few corners beforehand. I like the look of those drift cameras, will look into those. Thanks for posting the link! Were they early models or something?

Not sure if the most recent ones are better, but I haven't heard different.

Wow that's bad, you woulda' thought with new generations they'd fix issues that appeared on older ones :/
Gaz6002
It's amazing what the public will swallow given the right marketing! This is a perfect example. So are many Apple products
Mike2JZ
Sometimes it just comes down to user error :X GoPro's don't just turn off for the sake of it

Guest Nicholas
The 4th generation Go Pro's are much better and I especially like the LCD back you can have now to watch back your videos, much better than the iphone app, I've owned a 2, 3 black and now a 4 silver and I cannot fault the 4 silver. I watched lots of reviews on the drift camera's before getting another go pro and if you think the audio is bad on a go pro, on a drift it's woeful. Buy the go pro 4 black or silver but do all the updates before you use it and you'll find it's great. If they are good enough for Kyle at 1320 then it's good enough for most
MATT RR
I personally would reccomend a go-pro, I use a go-pro hero3+black edition with remote, used it for well over a year and half now with no issues and Im thinking about buying more to use at the same time, the one I have now has been: 1. mounted to a quad copter 2. used on my bike for downhill 3. mounted to the Supra 4. mounted to a sand buggy in dubai 5. mounted to a snowmobile in Sweden 6. mounted to my dog (i realise that sounds wrong) 7. sent under water many times 8. used on theme park rides 9. strapped to my 12 gauge shotgun and .22 rifle while shooting even throughout all of this its never turned off, never failed, I have never had any issue with it and the quality of the video you get from them is amazing The only thing I don't like is the shape of it! The range of accessories out there for them (official and un-official) is second to none IMO
Al Massey
I've used many go pros, never had a problem. Just upgraded my hero 2's to the 3 white because I found a guy that makes remote record buttons and a hard wire battery kit. Will be fitting mine soon but basically I will never have to charge a battery again for the ones inside my car, and to record, I have 1 button that will turn on both go pros and record straight away, and to turn off I just hold it for 4 seconds. That's why I went for the 3 white
Alex
I have a Drift Ghost S + remote mic I run it at 960p with 60fps...I think it's enough for YouTube highlights. [video=youtube;cpILcC-ofn4]

Alex
The Drift comes water-proof to 3m http://store.driftinnovation.com/uk/cameras/drift-ghost-s But for water fun I think you need the; http://store.driftinnovation.com/uk/drift-ghost-waterproof-case I have literally just learned I can rotate the lens to change the angles (so whichever angle the camera is you can get a straight image)... The Remote control is helpful too. I got the Drift because it was water *resistant* even with the external mic jacked in which the GoPro couldn't do at the time. For a motorbike, getting the engine noise rather than wind is a big win!
johnny g
I've got a GoPro Hero 1 that has WiFi and 32Gb card that I'd let go for the right money.

Guest bereavement
I have a hero 4 for my bike related stuff.... it is AMAZING. The only problems I have are of my own making. I also have a number of apple products. Things generally stay popular because they work. Marketing a bad product usually has a short shelf life.
