Poshmalc
Hi guys, I just managed to trap the wire at the bottom right of this picture behind my thermostat pipe and tightened it up and I'm worried that the fact the car won't start now may be caused by this. Does anyone know what these wires are for? If it is the Water Temperature Sensor, then it kind of explains it all as it won't start without this! Any help would be really appreciated. Many thanks, Matt
Dim Sum
Looking at it from this angle, it could be the crank sensor. Is it the black wirer connected to the alternator?
Poshmalc
No mate, I don't think so! It always gets in the way when you tighten up the two nuts on the thermostat pipe.

Poshmalc
Is the crank sensor connected to the alternator? Would it stop the car starting if this was damaged?
Lee P
That cable is the crank sensor and yes will stop the car starting if it's cut through or shorted together.
Poshmalc
Cheers Lee, I'm guessing that's what's happened!
