Which power steering fluid to use

Dim Sum

Recommended Posts

I have been reading on-line and I rang Toyota up and got some mixed results.

So I was wondering if anyone changed there power steering fluid recently and which fluid did you use.

The forum's guide : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?56684-FAQ-Oil-Fluid-Interval-Capacity-Steering-Brake-Coolant-Diff-Engine

Is Dexron III ATF (any brand)

I rang Toyota up, there said Dexron 4 or is it the same stuff?

Here's another link: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?7282-Whats-the-recomended-power-steering-fluid-for-the-Supra

So is it Dexron II, III or 4?

It's good to see someone actually thinking about how to best look after their car. :)

Toyota Type IV is supposed to be the best, yet Mr T. must say that.

I have used almost any and every brand of Type 111 and also Type II on a couple of occasions when it was that or walk, also budget brands of power steering fluids, whatever they are? in Supra power steering and yet to see one fail.

Regular change of lubricant is more important than a trendy brand.

I always want to make sure whatever I put in the Supra is correct and want things to run smoothly :)

So any brand has long as its a Dexron ATF
