Greetings,

Have been reading and reading but i cant find the answer, case of wood from the tree's.

I have a C7000 with bays 1 & 2 containing Flex-10 cards which are connect to a Cisco 4506. This was setup a long time ago and i am only just getting involved with it.

My question is can i create an ether-channel (LACP) from the Cisco switch to port 1 on both Flex-10 modules and remove SmartLink?

Assuming the 4500's have VSS configuration then yes you can LACP between a Flex10 module and the Cisco 4500's. So two port channels one to each Flex10. Can also do this with the Dell Force10 modules for info as I've done it with both.

Have to make sure your load-balancing algorithms match on both ends. Software compatibility is also key so check the 4500 release documents for the version you are running and ensure its compatible with the version on the Flex10.
