Anyone had any issues with their PS4 controllers?

I got a PS4 a few months ago. I've said numerous times I'm not much of a gamer but I enjoy being able to pick it up every now and again. Went to play it today and the controller was dead, fair enough..... I plug it in...... nothing. I've tried 3 different cables and I've tried plugging it into just about every available USB socket in the house..... nothing. A quick google finds a trick with the reset button at the back of the controller, nothing.

I went through the PS4 returns process and they just want me to post it back to them. My worry with this is that if I do, it'll just happen again and I'll end up outside of the warranty time. Has anyone else found this happening?

I'm genuinely thinking of getting it fixed and selling it on if it's going to break every time I don't use it for a few weeks.

I called up the support and the guy said he hadn't heard of the issue, he then said he had one case where it was the cable...... not the controller. The forums and communities are rife with it happening though so it's clearly not a one off.

It's not as if they sell them cheap enough to be considered disposable is it lol.
