imi
As many of you probably know, I sold my Blackwidow a couple of years back (after 10 years of ownership) and decided to buy a new car - my 1st built to order. Now don't get me wrong the Porsche is a superb machine however I don't seem to have any attachment to it like I did with the Supra. Perhaps I am getting old, surely a 20 year old banger can't have such an effect. reading my last comment again - 20 yr old banger - can't be bad...... TT Paul
1am you posted dude.. Did you work on your old car. This would help you bond with it instead of ordering it and joe bloggs building it.

mwilkinson
I don't think it's anything to do with getting old. I think you just like the Supra and it has cemented itself in your brain. Longer term owners will invariably become like how I perceive old MG car owners etc.. My ownership is now defined, not by the speed or power of the car, but because I just like them. I think they are a stunning looking car which defined a period of automotive history. New cars come and go and will undoubtedly be faster, more comfortable and more stable but not necessarily better. Brazil
I think the only other car that will fill that hole would maybe be either a 'Ferrari F458, Lamborghini Huracan or Aventador and other exotics that sell for 200k +' That is the issue with moving on from the Supra, the excitement and street presence is hard to match. I was at a Fashion TV event in Lisbon and there was a Ferrari F458 spyder at the car park and I would say that my car stole the show for most they have no idea its a Toyota and from street prencese wise and the sound when you start it up and you hear a monster under the bonnet it takes a lot of the exotic of the F458. If it was not because of that, maybe it was the hot blond brazilian that works out her booty 5x a week which I took on a date...! lol

Well I know what getting old feels like, but you never lose your love of cars.I've been contemplating buying my third Supra but a little voice in my head says buy the comfy Porsche or even a newer 370z.The reckless young man of my youth seems to be fading!! This is me in a nutshell! Over 10 years ago I worked near a Triumph Stag renovation specialist and I used to think why would you still own one of these old outdated blah blah cars when there are so many 'good' cars around now. Slowly I'm turning into them!
Abz
I think the problem is the Supra is a genuinely great car with very few flaws up against the current offering. It doesn't help that having been in your old car imi I can say it was a fantastic car, very driveable (especially as you used it as a daily) and fantastic power delivery from your near 600bhp car... that is going to be hard to match. especially in terms of a car which isn't losing value and is reliable. I can not think of many cars out there that offer this under £20k. This is what has made it very difficult to for me coming to terms that I need to sell my Supra, as someone who has driven all manners of super cars there isn't much out there that offer what we have. So imi when you going to get a new one imported over

Guest Nicholas
For me it's an era thing, when I was growing up the mid nineties was my teen years so naturally, you're either a Skyline guy or a Supra guy, for me it was always the Supra, from bedroom poster to owning one when I was 21, now 33 and still owning one. I often get the Lambo itch and even had a deposit down on one with the intention of selling the Supra but swiftly changed my mind. These cars are timeless and maintained correctly with the right mods can blow anything away, just a joy to own.
