Acton
My supra has an aftermarket shifter on it and so a previous owner has wired in this button under the handbrake. On a stock shifter, does the overdrive disengage automatically or is it fully manual operation to switch it on and off?
ellis
It's a manual operation in as much as you can turn it on or off. Previous owner might just have left it permanently on. Is that button for O/D off/on then?

Is that button for O/D off/on then? Yeah the button turns the O/D on or off. I just wondered whether the stock shifter switched off O/D automatically at certain speed/ revs, as some auto do that. Guigsy
I let mine pertinently on all the time.
garethr
"Overdrive" is just 4th gear. The O/D switch changes from 4th to 3rd and back again. If O/D is on, the gearbox will automatically change into 4th.
