Dim Sum
Some of you might know I have been doing my single build but I thought I'd make it official I have been gathering parts since middle of last year and finally started on the build on 17th May. I've been waiting to go single for a long time now and after speaking to Mk4Gaz, I knew that's what I wanted to do. So all I needed was that little push otherwise I still be with my stock twin setup. I have almost finished the build and just need a few more custom work and the car will be ready for remapping. I am not really sure about my power goals but I would be happy at around 600-650BHP. This is before the single conversion I have taken pictures along the way which I will upload. Need to resize images. The Spec list Precision billet 6765 divided housing K&N Filter Custom downpipe with flexi pipe/heat wrapped Greddy Manifold Greddy wastegate 60mm Greddy inlet manifold (replica) Q45 Throttle body Custom air intake pipe Toyo Intercooler 3 Row Polished Clutch reservoir heat shield Stock UK Camshafts Light Weight Pulleys Alloy radiator HKS Cam pulleys OEM Crank Pulley Gate’s racing belt Mishimoto Aluminium Fan Shroud Polished TT water neck Alloy catch can Fuel, Tuning & ECU: GS432 fuel pumpand Relay Lines HKS FCON PRO/3Bar Map Sensor 850CC SARD injectors and rail SARD Fuel regulator Fuel Damper bypass Bosch air intake sensor AEM AFR wideband Drivetrain 6 Speed Manual Getrag Gearbox V161 RPS street max Clutch lightweight RPS Cyn-R-G segmented Flywheel Stock HLSD diff Large Diff Suspension, Wheels, Tires & Brakes: Yellow Bilstein Shocks (white with lilac spring) Tyres Front 235/40/18 Rears 265/35/18 Stock 4 Pot Front 2 Pot Rear UK Spec brakes Chris Wilson fast road pads EBC Brake Disc Exhaust: Slient HKS HI-Power HKS 2nd Decat 3" Here is the first part of the build which was to service the car. Once the main service was done. I had to make sure all the parts I wanted to be polished is done. It turned out okay but not has shiny as I hoped for. This is some of the parts that are waiting to be fitted. Edited June 17, 2015 by Dim Sum (see edit history)
Dim Sum
Taking the upper part of the turbos seem quick and easy but didn't expect that removing the turbo was so hard. Was told by a few members its not a quick and easy job to remove the stock twins and they are right! It took a good part of 3 hours with cut hands to remove the stock twins. The manifold nuts were a mission to get too. Once it was out, we then mocked up the manifold and turbo. At this point its almost end off day 1. Just a note for members in the future when you buy Greddy/HKS or any tubular you need to alter the manifold studs and change the nuts to a slimline otherwise it wont bolt back on using stock. The engine bay is starting to take shape, but due to the age of the Supra, the engine bay looks very unloved. So while waiting for parts I started to tidy the bay and sprayed it back to 040 Toyota white, made a huge differences. Once the turbo was mounted and bolted down, we moved our attention to the inlet manifold side. This was pretty straight forward, just followed this guide and you be a expert in no time http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?82952-Blitz-Twin-Turbo-Installation Removed the fuel damper and replaced it with Hodge's fuel damper bypass. Here's the mock up of the inlet manifold in place Edited June 17, 2015 by Dim Sum (see edit history)
Dim Sum
The fuel system is all in place now. It's a little messy but I guess I can always tidy the hoses once the car starts. Again the build has been halted due to parts so I tried and clear out the other side of the engine bay and even painted it too. While I was waiting for parts, I went back and plumb the waste gate into my boost solenoid. Needed help so first place I turn to was the forum link to plumb in the external wastegate . http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?323016-Greddy-wastegate-vacuum-setup List of things to do Battery relocation Power steering bottle relocation Coolant bottle relocation Fusebox relocation Fuel pump Intercooler pipes Modify intake pipe Install throttle cable Install Q45 and TSP Adjust the TSP Okay not the most recent picture but when this picture was taken some of the list above have been done and it looks like its complete but far from it. Going single is not a weekend thing. lol With the throttlebody in place I could focus on getting the intercooler section ready. At this point I really want to thank johnd-mkvi for the knowledge he has and the custom fabrications. Without him I don't think I would of gotten so far, and through out this build I was almost planning to give up. Was told to "slowly chip away the build, you get there" Edited June 18, 2015 by Dim Sum (see edit history)

Dim Sum
Between the time I originally finish the first part of the build it looked like this 2015 - 2019 During that time I had carried out most of the build on the drive way My loom tuck was fine but I still wasn't happy with the look of the bay. My spec list has changed over the years aswell so I will update it on a later post with more recent pictures But the big changes were this year 2020, where engine came back out with subframes rebuilt, underseal and engine refresh. Dim Sum
In 2020 I no longer carried out the work but instead gave it to Darren at Magnum Performance. I gave him a list of things to carry out but replace anything that needed doing and that was costly but at the end of it I know everything was new and shouldn't worry about it in the future. The subframes were sandblasted and i decided to go with gunmetal rather than stock colours again Edited November 19, 2020 by Dim Sum (see edit history)
Dim Sum
This won't be a detailed build progress since there's so much that's been done and to write it all out will be long but I summaries it quickly then a spec list at the end.

He rang me on any issues and parts need replacing along the way. The communication from him from start to finish was really good
