msupra1
Hey guys.. I have a stock radiator, and the fan shroud cover has some bad scratches. I wanted to remove it to have it repainted. Just by looking at it, I'm not quite sure where to start. I couldn't figure out where it unbolts / unclips from to be removed. Any help would be great, cheers
Dim Sum
Im pretty sure theres only four bolts holding it. One on each corner of the shroud
T2 MSW
Take the lower shroud off, it just pulls off. Undo the 4 or 5 bolts in each corner. Then have to remove the top rad hose to get the top shroud off.
msupra1
Oh alright, I read somewhere about having to remove the fan, so its just the bolts? And how do I train some coolant before pulling off the rad hose? I've worked on my car and motor a lot but never touched the cooling system. Swampy442
And I think theres a little fan on the shroud, that needs unplugging. Just undo the top hose and allow some coolant to drain out.

And you can drain a little coolant out the rad from the drain hole on the bottom near side. TBH just putting something to mop the little bit that will come out when taking the top hose off has always done me ok. Then just turn the hose up so nothing runs out.
