boostman
Not sure if it's always done this but when full throttle over 5500rpm there is a popping sound. Is this a common thing, it's got 1st and 2nd decat and whifbitz exhaust. There's no performance impact it's just sound, like overrun when you loft off sound. Any advice is appreciated! Guest Seefo
probably not. popping on decel is usually a bit of unburnt fuel getting scavenged back with exhaust gas and usually only happens at very low partial throttle or abrupt off throttle (in some cars its still fuel being injected, but I doubt that's the case on anything like the supra). Since that can't happen at full throttle, its gotta be something else. a noise like that could be det, although I doubt you would be able to hear that especially with the exhaust mods. Are you sure you don't have something loose that is banging around? probably need more details....
j_jza80
Is it an NA or TT?
boostman
It's an NA. It's only very quiet and sounds exactly like when you lift off, a deep quiet boom boom boom. It's not a lose rattle sound.
j_jza80
As has been said, could be many things. Could be a leak in the exhaust somewhere?
boostman
I'll go for a drive later or tomorrow and have a good listen. Iv recently checked the decat and exhaust and didn't see any signs of leaks like black marks.
