drift_bear
So this weekend I was ment to be finishing off the car ready for Monday, this picture describes what I was greeted with after leaving my mate in charge to finish it for me while I was back at work... That led to this reaction and the realisation that JAE was slipping away and I had been let down Luckily 3 of my friends come round to the garage and we set about getting the car done! After the last 7 hours, the old engine is 6 inches from coming out! It is sticking on the shaft or something simple and removing to just slide forward and be free!! We had to call it a day at 03:30 due to me being at work for 07:00! So we will be back up tomorrow night and finish removing the engine, start working on the new engine! Before anyone asks AGAIN why it's taken so long, it is due to being let down by someone that should be helping while I'm at work and also being back at work doesn't give me much free time! drift_bear
So just a little update on this, we finally got the engine out last night! Yes it's taken longer than expected, but Ive been juggling this with full time work and now working on the supra! So the main plan of attack now is - Fit new engine Fit new spark plugs Fit new oil filter New oil New cv boot joints Swap over intakes Full service Then it will be ready for sale! I need this gone ASAP now I have the supra back! Will update that thread over the weekend

drift_bear
Should be on the road by next week. Since I'm not fitting any performance parts (apart from FMIC and blitz nur spec R, it will be back on the road sooner!
drift_bear
So a little update...... New engine is finally in along with a new clutch, finally got round to ordering everything that was needed to get it back on the road. The only issue now is that the garage where the car is at has been put up for sale and the landlord didn't tell my mate! First thing he knew about it was when someone came to look at the garage! It is about 75% back together now and away to be transported to my mates new garage and then finished off. Yes its taken far longer than expected but between work and losing interest in the car cause i had the supra back, i neglected it and now realise that i need to get this finished and let someone else enjoy her! Hopefully it won't hang around to long, but it is coming into the dreaded season performance car owners hate...
Style
Nice one Alex, like you said becoming a buyers market at this time of the year so hopefully you get a good figure in the end!
Graham1984
Get it fixed up, but sell for the price you want, if you can store it and hold out that is. After all the hassle you have had, there is no point in selling up cheap just due to 'time of year' mate.

I'm needing at least £12.5k for it! Try not to use the word at least especially if it is worth far more. Although I'm unsure on what it's worth, if there was not much more in it than your minimum price then by all means sell, especially if it stops you keeping it a further X amount of months. I personally didn't think winter (down here) was all that bad- so seasonal prices just seem stupid IMO.
drift_bear
So went up just now to move the car and was greeted with a sight I forgot existed... In 4 months all he's done is fit a clutch, mount the new engine and sand back a strut top! They say a picture speaks a thousand words, I am all outta words now and had a guts full! I don't know if I should laugh, cry or just generally explode! The old engine is apart to inspect the damage to piston/chamber 5...

drift_bear
So that's the stress of all this now starting to go! The car and engines are now outta the old garage and in a new secure unit Will hopefully get a crack on with the list of stuff to do this week! I've just purchased new ignition and door locks, so will need to speak to the alarm company and see what they can do regarding the stolen keys/fob issue! After seeing the car in the new place, it's re-ignited my love for this car and I'm wanting to see it through, TBH I'm even considering keeping the car along with the supra once it's finished, if I can justify it! Here's the list of stuff to do
drift_bear
So as of Monday the car went to a friends garage to get finished once and for all! Here is his Facebook post to summarise the massive task he took on Here's the car being loaded up on the truck for its final ride Here's the pics I received on Monday night once it was off the truck and in the garage The engine resting on a mount and some more things that were found After 20 hours so far, the car is now at this stage The car should be ready for start up tomorrow and the light at the end of the tunnel is near!
