I thought it would be a good idea to finally start a thread for the new car. As some of you know i sold the supra a few months and bought something else that i've always wanted...an R33 GTR Vspec! I managed to source one locally that had been well looked after by the previous owner and had no expenses spared, the only thing wrong was there was no history of this and the garage i bought the car from had very little paperwork with the car for some strange reason!!

After doing some digging on the GTROC i found some old posts about the car in general and found out it had to have a new engine due to a previous "tuning garage" not knowing what they were doing and had other goodies installed on the car at some point, like a power FC and hybrid turbos......but with no paperwork to back this up i wasn't sure if they were still on the car or not. I done some digging behind the dash and found there was sadly no aftermarket ecu, just the stock unit :( Here are the pics of the car when i first went to view it

I found out it had a full Nismo decat system on that sounded nice, but to quiet! It also had genuine 400R skirts and rear bumper, carbon wrapped spoiler blade and a hideous set of wheels! So the first thing i done was source a new carbon spoiler blade, some new wheels and a new exhaust system for it. I managed to source BBS LM's in skyline fitment and bought a new blitz nur spec R system!

So it was off with the old and on with the new the day i picked it up!

Once all that was done i was happy and enjoying the car but started to get the itch for a few other little "extras" and the niggle in the back of my head was always about the turbos, but i managed to think nothing of it and get the car ready for dragonball...that would be the real test for the car!!

Big eyelashes weren't stopping me from driving the car :rlol: They actually managed to stay on at some high lepton speeds though :innocent:

The car performed epic all weekend on dragonball but i knew that i had to do something to get a few more ponies from the old girl! So i set about and bought some hybrid turbos, power FCm gauges and a new boost controller!

I then decided to get some extra bonnet security

I have still got to buy cams, injectors and a fuel pump and then it will all be ready to get fitted to the car! Im hoping with all these mods i should see around the 500bhp mark no bother at all!!

I think its because of the color, if your supra were any other color than silver you would get the same road presence as the GTR.

Good effort on the mods, I can't say anything I am in the same boat as you and 99% of us here, modifying junkies...! lol

That's the car booked into Dyna tune on the 20th for all the upgrades to be fitted and the car mapped. Still got a couple of extra parts to get but should hopefully see around the 500bhp mark!

R34 GTR Hybrid turbos

Power FC

650cc injectors

HKS cams

Fuel pump

Boost/AFR/Oil Pressure gauges

New boost controller

Still need to get the FPR, plugs and Z32 AFM's and then that's me got everything!

While the car is there it will also be getting a full service and the car will be getting the fine tooth comb treatment and a list will be made of what needs/soon needs to be replaced and that will be a winter job!

Anyway, here's a couple of new pics of the car

Looking good Alex. What power are you running at present?

Tbh I'm not exactly sure Adam! I have 2 dyna print outs of 420 and 430, so don't know what to believe lol

Very nice R33, and in the best colour. I also have a R33 with similar mods with a link ecu and it made 550bhp at 1.4 bar.

And great choice with the wheels

Cheers bud  what mods are you running just outta interest?

Thought I might aswell update this with the current situations with the car! Some of you might of seen this thread and seen that I hit a small snag when the car was away to get the upgrades fitted.

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?325266-Gutted-is-an-understatement!

So I then decided that I had enough and the car didn't live up to my expectations, so made the decision to strip the car for parts and get back into a supra again. After spending a few days continually searching all sources for the perfect supra, there was just nothing that I knew would keep me happy on a long term basis.

After speaking to a good few friends about my situation, I realised that the GTR was far to nice still to break and I should give it a 2nd chance. If you have seen my GTR then you will have seen that it is genially a really clean car and it would of been a shame to strip it, so I set about and made some enquires and managed to source a genuine low mileage engine (37k miles) with proof!

The engine will be coming out tomorrow and the new one will be delivered then aswell. While the engine is out I will be tackling the start of the rusty struts and getting the, mint again and also treating the underside and under seal that aswell while the exhaust and etc is off. The engine bay will be getting a good clean and de-grease and the new block will get a lick of paint before getting dropped back in plus all the new upgraded parts will be fitted and the car will be then trailered down to get mapped.

I have a very tight deadline to get this car back in mint condition and hoping to have everything finished and the car looking mint in time for JAE...so it's time to play the a team theme and get cracking! I will keep this thread updated for anyone that cares, but also for my future records.
