Brodierx7
Hi folks! Help needed, my 96 supra starts fine and idles fine on warm up, but once warmed up the idle is just up and down! I cleaned the idle control valve but still does it. It's very annoying! Is there anything else I can try or look for that's fairly simple? Hitbox Junkie
My Audi A3 did this, was a dirty throttle body cleaned this and all was ok.
supra_24
Yeah it will be the throttle body and idle valve control bud. Had the exact same issue. Gave it a good old clean and now good as new Regards Ash
Brodierx7
Ok cheers! I will need to give that a try
Brodierx7
I've taken the intercooler pipe off and opened the throttle up and it looks pretty clean inside. Could it be the throttle position sensor or something? I don't want to mess with it to much incase I screw up the settings.
Hitbox Junkie
When I done mine on the Audi i just opened up the throttle body and cleaned all round and as far down as I could put my hand / rag with some carb cleaner spray did the trick, i made sure I wasn't rough with it and placed it all back with little fuss. Fingers crossed its something simple for you
Big Mark
Is it the same as the issue I have? Thread with video here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?321799-Fluctuating-idle-and-weird-noise I've not gotten to The bottom of it yet. I've found a degraded vacuum (probably the only one I didn't recently change) and I need to adjust/check my throttle position sensors. Brodierx7
I've already checked for vacuum leaks but I will have a right look tonight just to make sure. I'm hopping I don't have to mess with the throttle position sensor. I did read a thing on testing the sensor.
