New Daily?

So thinking about changing the daily, so short recap went from single soop, to R34, R35, RS6 and now S5 Cab. Now within the last year been doing a lot of miles with work hence the the S5 which has been been a good Daliy I.e fuel, performance, comfort etc etc. However works changed again and I don't need to do the miles anymore :) so can go back to having a thirsty daily without worrying to much MPG etc.

Keeping the R32 for a bit of fun as it really ticks the box and fills the R35 whole! So this is something to get me to work and back 12 mile commute and ferry the family about on occasion, no track work etc :)

Fancy a change and have narrowed it down to a Jaguar XFR or and Audi S6 like this:-

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201505283839358/sort/pricedesc/make/audi/quicksearch/true/channel/cars/page/1/postcode/pr71re/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/usedcars/model/s6_saloon/radius/1500?logcode=p

Or

Both can be tuned to about 550-600 and will be rapid but the Audi would be easier to handle as its 4wd.

On the other hand the wife wants to finish the house with a rear extension which would mean either a A6 bitidi or an older XFR perhaps a preface lift model.

All advice appreciated :)

The only advice I can give you Rob, is to stop looking at car adverts.

What is wrong with you?

I know, I know but partly its I have a bucket list of cars I want to own and partly I'm still looking for something that I really like! And I get bored very easy!!!

Anyway enough of my 'issues' Jag or Audi lol

I am sure we have done this thread before. I love the look of Jags and Mercs but they seem to insist on auto boxes with roles out any fun or skill in my book.

Jag ftw. Ever thought of a C63? I decided to go Merc for my daily this week.

Jag is perfect, for me a daily has to be comfortable above all. Especially if you got something fast, that way you appreciate both cars. The roads are littered with Audi's everywhere so it is the Jag vote for me.

Must say after just having a extended test drive in the Jag it is awesome! The noise is just incredible, I'd have to disagree on the fun and skill thing though dude I had a massive smile on my face booting it and they are a right handful through the twisty honestly there is some skill in controlling 500+ lfbt through a pair of rear wheels lol :) The salesman almost lost it and we ended up doing a small drift lol :cool:

Which merc dude please say C63 5.5 V8!!!!! :)

Yeah totally agree now it was very comfortable and was still seriously quick once we were on the move!

Just not sure whether to go with a 10/11 plate for 20-25k pre facelift or spend another 10k for a facelift. The pre facelift would be the safer bet with the new model coming out as far as deprecation is concerned, but I much prefer the gearbox in the facelift hmm decisions :)

No mate. C220D AMG Line. Just never enjoyed or been troubled by a car where your change is done for you. Autos are great if sat in traffic.

Give me a manual stick any day.

Go with the pre-facelift, the depreciation is hard enough on the Jag's, with the money you have saved, you could treat yourself to some minor mods (not sure if you understand what minor means Rob) :D

Yeah need to drive another non facelift, just wondering what the depreciation will be like on the facelift once the new one is out :) but you're right I will mod it and no idea what minor is :D

go for the extension at least it wont lose you any money (sensible head on )

Not bad advise mate!

Audi RS6 estate with the big V10 twin turbo engine in it :)

Had a 700hp version of that as a saloon awesome power!

Be an absolute hooligan and import a VXR8 Tourer!

Or Volvo Polestar

Cheers I'll Defoe check them out :)

My vote would go to jag.

For some reason I like the estate version 10x more. Much more slick.

Yeah the sportbrake is a striking motor!
