Sharpie
Looks like the insurance co's have another way to screw you over.... I'm looking to buy a second car but, insurance is double what I pay for the soop as you can only use your NCD on one car....wife has 0 NCD due to company cars.... Any advice on bring the cost down ? (Even with my current insurance co, they can see I'm a safe driver and have 10+ years NCD so, can see I'm a good chap but, NO, start from scratch sir..... ) Can I put the soop on classic insurance yet as it's over 10yrs now ? The miles in the soop will be down to ~5k a year now tops...
JohnK
A lot of companys will mirror your NCB to another policy for a second car, admiral do, then after that year you can split them to different companys and have 2 seperate policys with full NCB. Not a lot of help to you i know but what if you threaten to move your policy because of this?
Pete
Yeah, it's a complete con isn't it? You have to do as John says. Funny thing is, you make a claim on one policy, they'll tell you it affects ALL your policies. One rule one way, another rule for another. GeordieSteve
Ring your insurer... they'll just add another car on. I've just added a Nissan 200sx on mine for a week... cost £1.33 after the admin fee
Sharpie
No, they won't since my Soop policy is for ME only and the new car is ME & Wife since, it's a family car.
GeordieSteve
Would it not be cheaper to insure the wifey shape on the Sup as well?
tbourner
But don't tell her obviously.

Pete
What's a mirror policy? I currently have 5 cars but can only afford to insure three. There MUST be a better way to insure this many cars between two people. (Try for a traders policy?)
SkyJawa
Liverpool Victoria do 2 cars to 1 policy............
Ian R
go to http://www.quotelinedirect.com get a quote and then phone the number and they will mirror you NCD for you as long as you give them proof you have it on your main car (all they wanted from me was my policy no) Cost me 200 to insure my daily driver Cavalier TD
stew123
Admiral certainly will offer to mirror NCB...but you have to push for it...on the phone (not online). They are also really cheap, at least for me they are anyway..Get the cheapest nastiest online quote you can find, then ask them to beat it: Sup = £521.17 p.a fully comp plus Business class 1 (12K miles max) Vectra TD = £138.22 p.a fully comp plus Business Class 1 OK so I may be slightly old (36) but I'm still happy - nobody else can get close to this that I've found! Sharpie
LOL at Neil No, she did it to my first car..... At the age of 18 I had been saving for years, being a car nut from birth, so, purchased a 5yr old BMW 318 and upgraded the suspension, wheels, BIG ICE install, tints and a few other bits…. only for her to marry me (age 20 at this point) and then 1 week later, totalled the car into an off-licence (She is from Liverpool and initial reports were that it was a ram raid but, no, a complete loss and only being 20 with 3PFT (£2k) insurance , I had to start again by selling her for scrap. All that money I had saved as a boy for my 1st pride and joy….just for scrap. I have to say that, I’m only just over it…some 13years later – just! LeeT
Not a daily driver then? yes but i only work 1.5 miles away and i only work 4 days a week the weekends are usually very blurry so the supe doesnt get used that much especially over the winter. thats when the landcruiser comes out. i think i limited my mileage to 5000 per annum iirc
