a98pmalcolm
Hey all I have a small problem. When my car has warmed up I get a creaking sound from my steering. Its quite loud and can feel it through the steering. If i turn the steering wheel beyond 50 degrees or so its not there. My suspicions are the power steering pump because after its rained a little when the car isnt running (ie the morning) the steering can be stiff (like the pump isnt on) and after a few seconds it squeaks quickly as then power steering on. When it hasnt raind i dont get the issue but the creaking steering is always there once the car has warmed up. Any thoughts? Thanks EDIT: Problem ended up being lower control arm swivel joint.. Tsia
Could be leaking PS fluid? I found out mine was after it began to creak after ten minutes or so in the car.
Supraleeturbo
I had this and it ended up the the mechanism behind the cowling needed new grease :-)
a98pmalcolm
thanks for the reply fellas. Its not leaking fluid as its still topped up. It sounds like its coming from outside the cockpit so i cant see it being being the mechanism behind the cowling. But will regrease anyway when i get the chance
