LOL! just got this email, made me laugh, as I haven't filled in a tax return for at least three years, if they had a credible UK based email address it might be more believable......not!

After we've processed your tax return, we have issued you with a notice of assessment.

You are entitled to a tax refund.

Refund reference: Ref/156/5336/5/5002/2015

Amount to be refunded: £ 213.85

 

Before we proceed with the payment, you must update your information.

I read an article on this kind of thing a while back. I basically said that there is no point in scammers putting a load of effort into making a scam look more convincing as the return on investment woudl quickly make it not worth the bother. Apparently they get a sufficient return off these lame scams to make it worthwhile keeping them running, even if 99% of the recipients immediately delete it.
