Jellybean
Hey My valve covers needed to be tightened up, last touched a few years ago Is it just as bad to over tighten , will they leak ?
clay
If you over tighten them. you risk them cracking. then they leak a lott. I HAD TO GET A NEW PAIR. OOOOPPPSS
Westy
Just out of interest...what is the torque rating on these?
Benjy
Think it's about 4nm.
Steve Paine
I overdid mine and had to get the crack welded. I was using a torque wrench set at the recommended 5nm. I think with new seals it should be tightened to not a lot more than finger tight!
Dnk
5.5 Nm according to the wsm on the homepage Thats against new seals that haven't gone rock hard though so the seal will compress more than an old hard one
Dazzi
TT 5.4nm, NA 8.3nm.
