Dnk
A DB9 Volante with 100k up it, even its full history and appears to be a well looked after car ?
ATB
The DB9 is one of the best looking cars ever made but personally I'd only buy the hardtop.
Dnk
I agree with the looks being one of the best be it a hardtop or soft top, my question is would you buy one with 100,000 miles or 160,000 km on it ?
nige-rz
I agree with the looks being one of the best be it a hardtop or soft top, my question is would you buy one with 100,000 miles or 160,000 km on it ? If you were buying it to hold onto for many years and were getting it for a snip, then I would say yes. If you've any interest in resale value, I'd say no. People have a mini heart attack when there is a few miles on anything exotic, due to the cost of spares and I'd imagine the car would have limited appeal within an already niche market. I appreciate you might not want to share a link etc. but is there significant saving vs. a DB9 with average mileage?
Dnk
I'll pop the link up no problem. Around £10k cheaper than one with half the miles but similar age
Tyson
I'll pop the link up no problem. Around £10k cheaper than one with half the miles but similar age I would say yes dunk it is a stunning car and if it's got a nice folder of history then it's most likely that not many parts on the car have seen all 100k miles. JasonR24
Is it this one dunk? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=261897877957 Looks lovely. Tbh if you go for that it's the best car I've seen you interested in so far looking at your other thread!
ozz
Stunning car but I don't think I've ever bought a car with more than 50k miles on it and certainly wouldn't with such a specialist car. If it was cheaper and a forever 3rd car then maybe, but I like to use my cars not just look at them and worry when they'll go wrong.

Yes Jason that's the car, to be honest its a bit out of reach really and the 100,000 does worry me a bit but boy does it tick every box otherwise
Chris Bailey
Imperials in Romford, Not to far away from me. Looks a nice example!
j_jza80
Maybe worth a look at the various DB9 ownership threads on pistonheads. Beautiful cars, but they do have their issues.
cered
I looked into a V8 Vantage... Look at the parts prices, expect to pay £400 for a shock absorber for example (Iirc on the DB9 and V8 Vantage theres four on the back...) Needless to say I didn't buy
Dnk
I wouldn't buy one without a comprehensive warranty, same goes for most things now if there upwards of £20k, i spoke to a Merc dealer about a £25k SL350 and they were prepared to put 2 years of top warranty cover on it but the part ex money i was offered was dire so i'll need to shift my BM privately
Gaz6002
Not a chance in hell. A 50k one would be enough trouble.
Chris Wilson
Are you on some sort of medication? Get real, they are total disaster areas. Chris Wilson
The DB9, terrible things. Reliability apart, even David Niven would be hard pressed to look anything other than a spiv in one, especially a convertible Like a Continental GT convertible, the play things of monosyllabic footballers Now, a Bentley Mulliner Park Ward Continental with "Chinese" headlights, that's a gentleman's car. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21735/lot/230/ But bin the white walls, very "American", very vulgar! If you must pretend you are in the south of France:

If you must pretend you are in the south of France: Glad you said that Chris. My dad has always wanted an Aston Martin but could never afford one but now he's thinking about it I don't want him falling into any pits! I think it would be a v8 vantage. Please tell me they are better than the db9 lol

Chris Wilson
Do Volvo make a convertible Yes, but not on a RWD platform, so of no concern, nothiing to see there
MattP
DNK you need to stop looking at cars and buy a boat that's where it's all at...
