I'm selling my E46 and looking to replace it with another convertable.

The Merc SL350 looks just the job for me and there seems to be plenty

to choose from.

Found a 55 plate done 54,000 miles for £11k

Opinions welcome :)

Buy and restore my Range Rover, you know you want to ;)

E46 is a great car, if you like the drive of the Merc and it ticks your boxes go for it. The Merc is a pleasing car to look at and you can pull up at any hotel and look stylish :)

Nice choice, I've driven a few and loved them. Considered getting one but in the end I opted for a porsche 996.

Have you considered a 6 series? The only problem I had with the SL was the lack of back seats.

I don't need back seats and if i did i'd use the Range Rover :)

I think the 6 series is a great car but i can't get past how ugly it looks at the back, the boot makes

it a non starter for me

In that case the merc is the perfect choice. You should be able to find a very nice example with your budget.

If I had £10k id be all over a nice 535d M-Sport E61 mate. Then with the grand left over i'd put decent suspension and a set of CSL wheels and a remap. :)

I want a 2 door convertible James and definitely not an oil burner :)

Sounds like you may have already made your mind up, I'd say a good choice on the SL350. As said, if you really want the extra oomph and noise go for the 500, if not, the 350 will be right up your street!

And speaking of 350..... What about a drop top 350Z? A lot of car for the money and a very involving drive.

The 350z doesn't float my boat, i was almost tempted into a Z4 but that's not doing it for me either.

I'd love a full fat SL55 AMG but to get a low miles one say sub 60,000 your up at £17k for an 2002

and back to the air suspension set up

If your considering a 911 I may be selling my 996 hardtop tiptronic s. In gunmetal with black leather, sat nav, turbo wheels etc.

Having mentioned a 6 series in this thread I've been looking at them al afternoon. Wasn't aware they made a 635d, I'm very tempted by one now.

I was tempted by the aerotop that recently came on here for sale but the sellers response

made me think twice and now i'm back wanting something a max of 10 years old.

The SL Merc at the minute is ticking all the boxes for my requirements and its really now

down to am i silly and get at 500 or 55 or be a sensible middle aged chap and get the 350 :innocent: :D
