Chris Wilson
Replace the cracked coils, for sure. Ideally buy a new set of coils.
jza800
i have ohm the coils, and they are 0.7 to 0.8 ohm cold.. so they are within spec.. i will trye my local deeler and see what he can get new for..
Chris Wilson
The fact they are cracked may mean the HT is escaping and tracking to ground under load. They DEFINITELY should be changed!!
jza800
can i use some off those coil packs, as i think they are cheper that going to toyota ?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=coil+pack+2jzgte&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC1.A0.H0.Xcoil+pack+supra.TRS0&_nkw=coil+pack+supra&_sacat=
jza800
but there is one ? i dont have gotten any answer on: When the engine light is off, the engine hesitating those 2 times from between 3500rpm to 4500 rpm , all over those rpm range NO hesitating.. i can go full trottle from 1st and up with no hesitating.. i have only notice the hesitating sometimes in 2nd gear and full trottle, but always in 3rd gear at full trottle.. and ONLY those 2 times and between 3500 rpm to 4500 rpm. from 4500 til stock redline at 6500 rpm i cant feel the hesitating, so i dont think it is doing it there.. And i can see on the air/fuel gauge that under hesitating it goes lean but maxium 2 sek, then it goes right to rich.. When the engine light is ON there is no hesitating what so ever, and pull strong and normal... And here is the air/fuel gauge reading normal, direct to rich under full trottle and the car goes to boost.. So what does the ecu change when the engine light turn on? does it change fuel ignition spark fuel or what does it do, since that there is no problem there??? i really hope you will take your time to answer that, if you can, or direct someone in here, that could have that answer, as it would help me alot to undestand
Chris Wilson
I do not know why it is doing this. If I had the car here I could work it out, but without "hands on" it's very hard to guess. Very odd fault!! Reading lean does NOT NOT NOT always mean it IS lean, it do this if it goes very rich due to missing sparks.... - - - Updated - - - can i use some off those coil packs, as i think they are cheper that going to toyota ?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=coil+pack+2jzgte&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC1.A0.H0.Xcoil+pack+supra.TRS0&_nkw=coil+pack+supra&_sacat=0 I have always used genuine coils, I have never tried any of those, sorry.
