Considering it for the track MX5 and maybe the GTR..... since paint work is being destroyed by tracks, idea would be to keep it for a year and change it. Where down south are you? See below some pictures of the car, where I've sanded down all imperfections and rust spots on the paintwork, etched and then primed. Once that was done we want this to be a more long term solution to last more than a year or so (hopefully around 3) so we used a plasti dip primer to make sure it stay's on better and won't flake or peel in the near future. I did this with a specialist not far away from me, I did all the prep he did the spraying so not to sure on how many litres was used but was around 5 coats of dip and one primer. Thank's mate!! really happy with how it looks at the moment, Was 300 for the dip, 50 for the primer layer as I'm looking for this to last at bit longer. He beats any quote by 20% but I managed to get it down to 300 because of the potential for other supra owners, so would give the club a good price! And you can go over it in a layer of Laquer plasti-dip and this will give it a bit of a shine but wont look metallic, check it out on google! Looks good, well done mate Thanks again, Only thing I'm not to sure about is if i like how the Supra badge on the back is sprayed over as it was really fiddly to tape up, Not a major thing I'm just being picky haha! Only a minor criticism Yeah I'm going to have to go over it with some spray, going to be fiddly masking around it all. Since then cleaned up the headlights now refurbishing the wheels this weekend then to start on the wheels. Still a happy bunny except white is hard to keep clean on the Norfolk back roads! herbiemercman Posted October 23, 2015 Share Posted October 23, 2015 I just bought a bathroom suite that was wrapped, took me ages to peel the crap off, we are all different in how we look at our lives and the cars we drive, car wrapping was introduced for storing cars which they could not sell, also used for transporting luxury cars etc. I would not get involved with anyone in buying their car, if they had had it wrapped, IMHO, it's not real, its fake, plastically and cheap. krisgowing Posted October 26, 2015 Author Share Posted October 26, 2015 I agree it's not ideal but when your 22 and you've spent alot of money on insurance etc just to be able to have one of your dream cars (well close of course it would be a TT 6 speed facelift) that if you cant afford a full respray which would cost more than half than what I paid for the car then this is ideal for now. Plus correcting all the rust spot underneath mean now that the car's paint underneath is protected ready for a respray when I can eventually afford one But your right each to their own, I'm happy with it now than looking 50 shades of grey with rust patches!
