Wouldn't you be better just peeling the plasti dip off on the areas you want to carbon? Then put the carbon wrap straight onto the paintwork?

Don't know much about plasti dip but I wouldn't imagine much bonds very well to it.

Yeah I thought as much, it'd probably not even bond at all.

Some great videos by these guys by the way, possibly already posted:

The spray would be worth it, bugs can be a problem outdoors.

Yeah thats what I was thinking.

I'm going to spray the lip on the ridox skirts and front bumper in a dark grey, and do the same with the trial rear diffuser when I get it this weekend.

I'll let that cure for a couple of weeks and then possibly go plastidip.

The only decision left then is what colour!

Might as well get one of those crap wraps over that.

It would definitely be a "crap wrap" for £300. An actual wrap done properly costs anywhere from 1k - 1.5k.

Nope don't have to inform dvla as its not a colour change

As of last year you have to inform the DVLA if you have have wrapped your vehicle in a different colour. I would double-check to see if the same applies for plasti-dip.

3rd coathttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/27/43779f3029de2a1658aff6a1a8dbef2a.jpg

Then ran out at 10 litres

Any more progress shots?

Did you use anything over the final coat?

Yeah I spoke to dvla last year.

They said if it's a full adhesive/vinyl wrap.

If it's partial it doesn't matter.

And when I asked about plastidip they said no, as plastidip isn't semi permanent like vinyl is.

Had mine done and it's shit. Wouldn't recommend plasti dip. Peels easy at edges, rough, hard to clean, bird shit stains it. Just overall not good IMO

Yeah weirdly enough I was talking about dip vs wrap with a colleague earlier and we got onto the subject of cleaning bird crap and mud and stuff.

You still got yours on?
