Red car refresh.

A mate of mine asked me if I could bring my Das-6 in to polish up a bonnet and a front wing. He was told that it would only need a quick going over, which is what he told me.

This is what I saw when I got there

Ever the optimist I set about giving it a wash. I don't think it had been cleaned in God knows how long. All the crap that was on it felt like it needed peeling rather than washing.

I set to work polishing the bonnet which had no lacquer on it at all

I had started on the left side of the picture first but wasn't happy with how much cut I was getting so used a more aggressive Polish on the right, with the plan of refining it afterwards.

I replicated this on the wing that did have lacquer on it and then used a lighter cut to bring out the shine and gloss. I ended up with this.

Nice job Graham

This could be a new career for you post roofing/knee issues

Lol I look at people like Stonkin and Peter Richards and think I don't stand a chance to be honest.

I know everyone's got to start somewhere but it just seems a really hard market to get into and to be able to make it viable to live on.

Thanks though John, it's much appreciated :D

You did a great job on the car mate. Shame about the AWFUL attachment job :D

Thanks Scott. The bonnet sadly was so messed up that even though it cleaned up well it looks like it has deep ingrained water spots in it.

As for the attachments it just became a shambles and I gave up.... If I can use a URL and tags I'm fine :D
