Where to get Cambelt replaced in North West (Manchester)

Hi all,

Just need some guidance, a 'Service A' is due on the Supra & I think it's time the cambelt is replaced.

Just rang Toyota Stockport & they're going to ring me back to give me a quote. Lady on the phone has worked at Toyota for 25 years & said she's never dealt with a customer with a Supra before (apart from one in Bradbury when it was called in) to which I replied... I'll be your first!

Just wondering where the rest of the North West Supra guys go for a service/cambelt replacement??

Thanks

Usman

Imused to live in Gatley, which is an hour from where i am now at SY13 2BT, so if that's not too far I can certainly do the belt and whatever mechanical wrk you desire.

Depends where in the northwest you are? AC Speedtech have a good reputation in Warrington

South Manchester

What he said :yeahthat:

be be prepared when Toyota ring you back with a price :taped:

They rang me back. They said it's £35 for the cambelt & £355 for labour [sHOCK][/sHOCK]

speak to Martin "Kirk" on here, not a trader but knows his way around a supra and can do that job no issues. He is from near Oldham/Manchester.

Thanks will do.

No way! I live just off Gatley. I literally would of been 5 mins up the road from you (Kingsway, East Didsbury) Ahh, no worries will give you the thumbs up when I get the car on the road.

Ha, how small a world. if you go down Kingsway to Gatley Road traffic lights and turn right for Gatley village I was in the first house on the right, with a bus shelter outside. I have had fifteen cars and a truck on that drive! The neighbours loved me.... ;) Kingsway was where I first saw 100 MPH in a car, decades ago, when my dad came home with a new motor. Before the smokeless zones Kingsway occasionally got so foggy I remember holding a torch out of the passenger window, telling my father how far off the kerb we were. Now you just get diesel fumes and take away smoke and smells ;) The traffic at Kingsway lights just got too much, I am out in the sticks now. Still got about 15 cars and a truck on the drive though

Yeah tell me about it. We could've had regular Supra meets, and a mini drag race down the dual carriageway :Pling: Starting from from Tesco Didsbury lights, right the way down to Shell on Kingsway ;)

Yes, and traffic is still busy. I live 2 mins from the Shell garage (in-between Shell & just before the lights as you come down the hill) Which begs the question, was it you that use to drive occasionally in a white Supra down Kingsway?! As that's the only ever one I use to see as a youngster.
