Wheel sizes and offsets....again

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just got a recommendation for wheel offsets and would really like to get some opinions

The wheel and tyre sizes I'm looking at are:-

18x9.5 ET36 265 35 r18 Tyres - Front

18x11.5 ET48 315 30 r18 Tyres - Back

The rear arches are rolled and the suspension is all stock.

The brake calipers are uk spec.

Any input much appreciated as its wrecking my head.

I can't afford to order wheels and have them not fit very well.

Many thanks

John

The best way to visualise how they are going to sit is to compare them to a known set of wheels.

eg. the wheels on the pic of my car below (more pics in my garage).

Front: 18x9 +32 245/40R18

Rear: 18x10 +32 285/35R18

If you compare the wheel sizes in your first post to mine, the fronts would stick out an extra 2mm compared to mine, the rears would stick out an extra 3mm. I had to have my arches rolled so the tyres didn't rub, so you definitely will with the wider tyres.

Many thanks Matt, I haven't decided on the actual wheel brand yet but thinking of 360 Forged SL10 or Work Gnosis CV201.

Something in that style anyway

Brake clearance should be okay with those style of wheels, it is the deep dish wheels that can have clearance problems between the back of the spokes and front face of the calipers. The best thing to do would be ask the company you buy the wheels from, the likes of Work Wheels will know if they clear the Supra calipers.

Many thanks Nic.

The arches on mine have been rolled as it's in the bodyshop at the moment.

My little re-build thread here:-

Your wheels look pretty much flush, now getting worried that even those extra few mm you mention will push them out a little too much.

I would rather have them slightly in rather than out.
