supra_24
Hi guys, Just curious. Do I need to upgrade to a aftermarket bov on my Jspec twin turbo if I'm bpu at 400bhp? Or is the standard bov setup ok at these power levels? Any advice on this would be appreciated Regards Ash
Scott
The BOV isn't really power level dependent. It's flow dependent. I've not known anyone having any issues with the stock BOV at BPU. It will eventually fail though, regardless of whether BPU or not.
supra_ufo
its not needed mine is using the stock one but heard at BPU you can remove the stock one and block them up and there will be the compressor surge noise which shouldnt kill the turbo thats running 1.2 bar or less. I would recommend getting a FMIC and a induction kit, even with the stock BOV mine sounds sweet as, there is a big gasp noise it makes thats addicting when you let off the gas. I need to get a video of it
a98pmalcolm
i liked the HKS one when I was BPU
Marty
i liked the HKS one when I was BPU I can't stand the sound of the one on mine Stick with stock bov IMO
Dim Sum
Think it depends on what you want. Don't do any harm and i think alot of BPU owners mostly likely have one. If you want a wosh noise and go ahead and buy and install one if you dont like it after you installed it sell it.
kitch79
I was going to get a hks one, circa 350, but when I asked Jurgen (who would have fitted it when bpu-ing) he said not needed, waste of money.
Scott
I can't stand the sound of the one on mine Stick with stock bov IMO Have you tried changing the insert? It makes a massive difference to the noise. Also, there's a recirculating adapter so that you can feed it back into the intake, as per the stock setup. I was going to get a hks one, circa 350, but when I asked Jurgen (who would have fitted it when bpu-ing) he said not needed, waste of money. They've shot up in price. I got mine for around £200. That was a while back though. It's only a waste of money if you don't want the sound and your BOV is perfectly fine
a98pmalcolm
I can't stand the sound of the one on mine Stick with stock bov IMO Fussy git There is a different inserts as scott said. The purple one will make a more deeper woosh like a majority of the Bov's sound. Thats what I have in mine. But I may change back as I like to change it every now and again. The gold insert is the same as the stock insert.
rider
I can't stand the sound of the one on mine Stick with stock bov IMO I can't remember what a stock one sounds like. The Blitz fitted to my car is loud sounding like a load of thick phlegm about to be ejected..
