pete.osborne69
OK little update I have managed to connect to the door motor Locks and unlocks when the door is open but only locks when the door is closed Going from the pictures above using the first PIC I have wired the orange cable to the blue and red wire in a blue connector in the drivers foot well And wired the orange wire up to the white and red wire in the same connector From the second PIC The green wire is attached to a green and yellow wire The purple wire is connected to a solid white wire Both going into the same blue connector as the other 2 The pink and orange wires are both grounded I assume that the green wire from PIC 1 goes to the far top green wire in the blue connector but I still seem to be having issues All wiring is temporary Any help is appreciated
np89
no one is going to help you wire an alarm on an open forum

pete.osborne69
I am, I gave it in as a bad job yesterday and will soon be going at it again
np89
Why don't you give it to a professional installer and at least that way it will be right and you have less chance of wrecking somethin. You might not get any guarantee like if its a mickey mouse alarm but at least you'll know its been done by someone who knows what they are doing
pete.osborne69
I went to a place near me and I explained what I had and where I would like it and they said that it's not worth their hassle and that I should do it myself as it would be the better option
np89
Have you thought about buying a proper cat1 alarm from somewhere and having them install it. Most places its only 300quid or thereabouts
pete.osborne69
I was originally looking at a Clifford 1 with the remote start and turbo timer built in by the time they had done pricing it up it came to about £450 £500 Inc fitting so with this price I ask how much it would be to fit this crap 1 for the time being. Tbh I only want this fitting until I can afford to spend that amount of money on a alarm system
pete.osborne69
And at that it's not a insurance approved cat1 alarm
np89
Clifford cat1 are all insurance approved. It will be the remote start and turbo timer that makes it unapproved. Why do you want them anyway?
pete.osborne69
Remote start is just a luxury if you will but the turbo timer saves buying one and fitting it myself and I thought it might me better being in with an alarm circuit rather that on its own
chrispot
I am busy at the moment doing my cambelt, but i can help later. Is it only the door locking that's the problem? on a side note I would not bother with the turbo timer there's no need. The remote start is good in the winter, don't have to leave house to warm car up. regards chris.
pete.osborne69
Yeah as far as I can tell it is just the door locks I will post what I have connected where in a few mins just sorting a few stuff out at home
pete.osborne69
OK so here's what I have done so far using the wiring diagram from the TSRM and the diagram from the alarm Working from the second image The closest blue connector (bottom) in the drivers kick panel From alarm. -- To car Green. -- Green/yellow Purple. -- White Pink. -- Earthed Orange. -- Earthed Black. -- Removed White. -- Removed Working from the first image using the same connector From alarm. -- to car White. -- Green/red Orange. -- Red/white Using drivers door side pin (took out the bolts to get temp access) From alarm. -- To car Green. -- bottom wire (checked with multi-meter) Using the white connector under the steering column that looks to go to the ignition barrel From alarm. -- To car Black. -- earthed Red. -- red/white Yellow/green. -- pink/blue Yellow. -- Black/yellow I haven't placed in the relay (read a post saying its not needed) As for the rest of the cables coming from the alarm I know where they are going so I haven't wired them up Edited May 17, 2015 by pete.osborne69 (see edit history)
chrispot
sorry pete, not had the time to sort wiring for you. i will do it tomorrow morning for you. it looks like you have connected the central locking ok but the some others from the alarm are connected in the wrong place, but will consult the manual to confirm for you. regards chris. pete.osborne69
thanks Chris, i had another play around today with the wiring by connecting directly to the door motor terminals that are hidden behind the passengers glove box right at the top, like it says in the alarm wiring diagram and nothing happens so placed the two cables back. now as i understand from the supra wiring diagram it seems like i have connected to the key lock terminals -- which would probably explain why the doors don't unlock when they are shut (except when the key is in the ignition and switched to on) incase i got any colors mixed up when i wrote the previous post i have amended the post to reflect the changes i made today
chrispot
hi pete, had a look at the diagrams and tsrm today. As you know you are working on a negative trigger system going from what you have posted. on the alarm 13p connector the orange, white and green look to be alarm triggers. the orange is a positive trigger which is not used on the supra so i would disconnect and tape up (could be used in other ways i will advise once alarm is all working correctly) the green and white are neg triggers which should be connected to the door interior light switch ( earths out when door is opened) so when the door is opened the alarm sounds if armed and also turns on the interior light. i would connect either the green or white to the door pin switch and the remaining wire to a bonnet pin switch, so as to sound alarm if someone opens the bonnet when alarm is on. the tsrm state the door pin switch colour code is red with a white tracer. use your multimeter to confirm that is earths out when the door is open if it does connect the green or white wire to that. but for now i would leave these disconnected until central door locking is all working, once all working then connect. the alarm 6p connector should be configured as a neg trigger as diagram 2 shows. so connect the orange and pink to earth, which you have done. but connect the green (unlock?) to the green and red tracer on the car and connect the purple (lock?) to the red with white tracer on the car the power wires etc on 13p connector all look to be almost correct, to confirm red is connected a permanent live either white or white with red tracer. ( when stating colours, main colour first then tracer) the black is earthed. green and yellow is accessory live and is connected to the pink with blue tracer. and the yellow is connected to a relay that disconnects any power that may be feed from ignition to a circuit when alarm is triggered. and is not connected to the black and yellow as you have done. to help you understand the wiring of the relay. if you look at the first diagram when the ignition key is in the on position power is feed down the wire to the relay and goes into terminal 87a which is connected to terminal 30 then onto a ignition coil but only when the relay is not operating. if the alarm was sounding etc it would output power on the yellow wire which would turn on the relay and so disconnect any power from getting through relay onto the coil. it does not have to be a coil it could any circuit fuel pump, injectors, ignition etc. to check alarm is working ok connect the power and earth to alarm and connect earths to the pink and orange, then connect a test light to live and the other end on purple. it should light up for a short time when the alarm is locked then test the same way on the green wire but is should light up on unlocked. if there are any problems let me know. regards chris. ps. sorry it late been busy doing stuff around the house for the missus. pete.osborne69
Hi Chris I had another go at it this morning and all seems fine except the door trigger which you have now fixed for me thanks I have managed to add the parking lights and they work as suppose to How ever not sure what attaching the blue with white tracer wire up to the brake switch will do other than lock and unlock the doors when pressed (some setting on the alarm) would it make more sense to wire it up to the parking brake on the auto box? Also I have a little metal squishy thingy (not very technical I know) might be a bonnet pin how would this be wired up/connected Also I don't have a siren for the alarm was thinking of using the horn if it would work do you know which cable it is? And how do I wire up the relay (no backup battery) Thanks again for all of your help Pete

chrispot
hi pete, read my post again, that metal thing would be for the bonnet and would use either the green or white wire. regarding blue/white i have no idea maybe to trigger alarm? what do the instructions say? if you don't know then leave disconnected. personally i would get a cheap 12v siren from ebay, firstly because the are loud for little power use and secondly as you are not familiar with relays. and would be required to be used if using the car horn, also the car horn would be a continuous blast. i don't have time now to show how to connect relay to disable a circuit, but will PM you later today if i can ( best not show the car thieves how you car is done? on this thread) the relay does not require a backup battery glad it's half sorted, hopefully all sorted soon. regards chris. chrispot
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/18/a77ab29a66ed59fde1fe129be97d46f6.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/18/95f0a9ef595ceddefaa316d324002b8f.jpg fit that under the bonnet somewhere so when the bonnet is closed it pushes the plunger down, and when the bonnet is opened it make contact and earths out either the white or green wire. if i get time tomorrow i twill take photos of where mine is fitted. regards chris. is that a roach in that picture?
