rob_sri
Greg at protuner is having troubles mapping my emanage.. It's running well on the dyno 430bhp and 500lbft but for some reason it sometimes has like a limp mode and hits a limiter around 4k on the road it's really odd.. ! Have no idea what's causing it.. Said there is no water temp signal could that be it? Very annoying.. It's been there almost a month now
Tricky-Ricky
If the ECU is connected and set up correctly it shouldn't compromise the std ECU and cause problems, a duff ECU water temp sensor will only cause a slightly richer mixture, which if its being mapped he would know this, do you know whats been checked? and do you mean it actually wont go over 4k rpm, or just that it misfires? ballsdeep
Is this na-t? Seem to remember FOSTA having similar trouble which turned out to be the coil? Let me find the thread.. Maybe irrelevant but worth a read! EDIT: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?238183-NA-T-misfire-or-revving-problem/page6 Fix on page 6, I have a spare ignition coil if you want to try it? Ian C
At that power level I assume you're still on the sequential setup? I wonder if it's not bringing the second turbo online and venting all the boost at 4000rpm, making it feel like a rev limiter as power goes away almost completely? Mike2JZ
Seems a little odd that a "tuner" would take over a month with an emanage?
T2 MSW
And map it with no water temp signal? Should not be mapped like that as said in this thread will cause the mixture to be rich so when its fixed feeling could be way off. Check the wire that connects to the temp sensor as they go brittle and break off. Its the one on the water Elbow not the one in the lower rad. rob_sri
Okay well the issue was that the emanage was wired in wrong and tuned wrong by someone on here.. Air temp and water temp weren't connected although there were values in the compensation tables for them and there was something very weird set up for knock control.. All in all you get what you pay for I guess.. Greg at protuner took his time but did a very good job with it in the end diagnosing and correcting things! Will still upgrade the emanage to a decent standalone after I've swapped the gearbox
