J-Meiser Posted May 10, 2015 Share Posted May 10, 2015 Hi Is the sensor that goes into the first cat (pictured below) required for the V8 conversion? The exhaust I have for the V8 doesn't have a port for it and the bolts are heavily corroded, undoing them will be a real pain in the rear, so I'm tempted to simply cut it off if it is no longer required. chrispot Posted May 11, 2015 Share Posted May 11, 2015 does not look like a sensor to me, it looks like a pipe. could it be for pressure testing the cat? whats on the other end of that pipe? what engine is it? what sensor do you think it is? looks to me that should be an O2 sensor there? if using std ecu then the car would require a O2 sensor in each bank. if you find out what it is or if needed please let us know, thanks regards chris. It'll be happy without it. thanks david. so it's fitted after the cat, from that picture it looked to me like it was fitted in the downpipe pipe and before any cats, hence my comments.
