Suspension Question

Recommended Posts

I've thought for a while my passager rear looked a bit lower than the driver rear so I've just measured from the centre of the arch to the ground and it's 1cm lower. (level ground)

It's on bilstien shocks and lowering springs which I think are tein and around 35mm lower.

Is this 1cm a problem, mot fail?

I assume it's the spring but could it be anything else?

Thanks

I would imagine a dying shock absorber would sit lower as it leaks fluid. Is there any misting on then shock absorber ? Any knocks or bangs from the rear ?

Oh ok that makes sense, I'll get underneath it on Monday and have a look!

No noises though and handling is great, I only noticed it as I went to feel the tread on the tyres.

If the shocker is OK it could be the wishbone rubbers giving up the ghost. Check the fronts too, normally it's an opposite corner thing. I believe the best way to remedy it is to get the car on a ramp, loosen off all the wishbones then re-torque them. It's a good idea to do an alignment at the same time.

Ok Ill see what I can see!

May be a garage job as I don't have access to any ramps/lifts

Thanks for the advice
