cam bolt wobble on cams

Ok should i be worried or is it normal? it dont seems like there was a answer ?

The thick load spreader washers are not very good fits on the bolts, they often end up being not

concentric with the pulley or the cam centreline, so visibly run out. It's insignificant for balance, just

aesthetically annoying like a muddy mark on a slowly rotating tyre.

Looks like an answer to me.

Looks like an answer to me.

yes i did see he wrote that, but as it seems that the bolt/washer wobble on mine, and i couldnt see the video he have attach, so can not see if his wobble on the bolt too, or only the washer..

I believe thats normal mate. The design of the cam pulleys make it look like its wobbling. But if you look at the edge of the pulley its not moving

ok thanks, it was only because i could see the intake cam dident have the wobbleling at all, that i was a little worried

i have now taken a new look at the cams.. and this is about what i see

cam gear: about 0.5 to 1mm off wobble

washer : about 2 to 3 mm off wobble

bolt : about 1 to 1.5 mm off wobble

so that cam gear wobble a little.. i now a have to take it apart to find what is wrong, so what can be damage off this wobble? and is it posible the cam can be out off balance or can the cam be skewed.. i now i maybe can be of protective to this problem, but dont want anything to happen to this engine with all that work i have but in to it..

How did you measure the wobble? Did you use a DTI?

Looks normal to me tbh. The cams are bolted into the head, so they can't wobble (unless they're bent!), the washers arent a close tolerance fit over the bolts so they will sit off centre, and the bolts probably arent manufactured to a very high tolerance.

with a pen on the edge of the bolt / washer / camgear (i now that is not the right way, but it give me a little idea off how much)..

i hope it is normal, as i really dont want anything to happen to this engine, as i have put a lot of work to it...

what do you mean with this -> and the bolts probably arent manufactured to a very high tolerance.

As in the heads probably arent forged/cast/machined exactly centrally.

You can only accurately measure the perceived wobble with a proper DTI. I bet of 10 people filmed their cam gears the results would be the same as yours.

I accept your bet ;) so people attach you video off your camgears :D

how is the best and easy way to loosen the camshaft/pully bolt, so i can center the washer a little better? can i lock it with this tools --->1_fa795d50-5505-4d08-b7a1-df7a559cc068_grande.jpeg or can i hold it on the bolt on the harmonic damper without risking the bolts on the cam gears comes loose?? i now when i fit them i did hold the camshaft with a key on them, but if others choises was posible it would be easer than take the camcover off.
