All the bolts are tight, but the underside of my car is covered. What do we think?

Have you tasted the oil to be sure it *IS* gearbox oil? It usually has a most distinctive taste.

Lol!! cant say ive done that. should it not be the gearbox, what else could it be? Ive checked the dipstick regularly and the engine oil is still saying just off full. A mystery...

Mmm, I'm getting loganberries and aged leather.

Joking aside, I taste watery leaks to tell if it's water, coolant or screenwash. I wouldn't know what gearbox oil tastes like, so I'd have to dab a bit on my finger from the bottle first.

If the underside of the car is "covered" there'll be a very low oil level in the gearbox as a result. Have you taken the level plug out and checked?

Most Getrags have the genuine Toyota stuff in it, which is redder than that in the photo. Are you *SURE* it's not engine oil? If you take the level plug out you can taste known gear oil and compare...

Seriously, just taste it, it's a sure and quick way to tell.
