Guest jn.shaw
you are changing tyres, you may want to consider going 245/40X19 on the front and 275/35X19 on the back to match the rolling circumferences front and back and have a wider choice of tyres. I currently have 245/35/19 on front and 275/30/19 on the back.
Westcoaster
I haven't even done 100 miles with these tyres there all brand new, just don't know how well they will hold up on the trip. You'll be fine, they won't be that bad, we will be sticking to the speed limits of course!
Scott
Nankangs aren't the worst I've had but I wouldn't push them in the slightest, especially on a RWD car. I had them on the MR2 and they almost killed me. Switched over to Toyo Proxie T1-r and never looked back. I've had worse tyres on lesser cars, 400hp, twisty bends, a heavy right foot and crap tyres just doesn't mix. Like anything though, as long as you keep in mind what's holding you onto the road you'll be fine
Westcoaster
Avons fitted this morning, then this afternoon, the Supra was washed twice, clayed, polished and covered with its Stormforce cover waiting for next weekend.

Does the cover not scratch the car ? I was thinking about getting one but every person I talked to about it said it's a bad thing to do. Marcus GTE
Avons fitted this morning, then this afternoon, the Supra was washed twice, clayed, polished and covered with its Stormforce cover waiting for next weekend. Productive day then! Yesterday I had my rear arches rolled to accommodate the 275 rear eagle F1's, as they were rubbing a bit on compression. Got the wonderful Liam to thank for helping me out with that one, some guy Now I really just need to give the car a good clean out, wash, clay, polish and wax then I'm all set. Changing my insurance on the 28th to lynbrook who quoted me £265 for a 5k mile policy that allows me to fit a ebc and Finnish bpu (not allowed to fit it with admiral) so I'll have to wait till next years trip to up the boost. Gives me something to look forward too though

Yes and no, I over winter the Supra using the stormforce cover and you can get little swirls where the cover has rubbed. It'll be fine for a few days to avoid the sun and bird guano! Scott
Mine are SilverCrest two way radios. 8 channels and 40 sub channels. Those are standard PMR radios so your radio frequencies should be..... 1 446.00625 2 446.01875 3 446.03125 4 446.04375 5 446.05625 6 446.06875 7 446.08125 8 446.09375 Baofeng 2 Way Radio BF-888S UHF 16CH Single Band FM Have you programmed in the frequencies Marcus? The above is what you want on channel 1-8. That way we can all just use channel 1.
Scott
This is what I have set my radio to...... 01 446.00625 67.0 02 446.01875 71.9 03 446.03125 74.4 04 446.06875 79.7 05 446.04375 118.8 06 446.01875 123.0 07 446.08125 118.8 08 446.09375 123.0 09 446.00625 127.3 10 446.01875 11 446.03125 12 446.04375 13 446.05625 14 446.06875 15 446.08125 16 SCANS ALL CHANNELS I believe the numbers after the frequency are the sub-channels? I have set these as per the info for standard radios (Kenwood, etc). Hopefully this will make them compatible.
gordy.r
Scott, where abouts are you located, I could always meet you some point this week and test our radios before we go on Friday?
Scott
Scott, where abouts are you located, I could always meet you some point this week and test our radios before we go on Friday? Larkhall, work in Inchinnan though. The only slight difficulty is that I'm backshift this week, starting work at 2.30 and not finishing till after 11. Westcoaster
Could everyone list what model radio they have? Just so that we can find some common ground on the frequencies Marcus and I have Baofeng BF888s, as does jn.shaw, I believe. Unfortunately I haven't been able to programme them with the PMR frequencies due to USB driver programming issues, which I'm still working on, but those 3 radios should communicate with each other on slightly different frequencies from the PMR radios. Can't wait for Friday though!
Westcoaster
Scratch the above, I have them programmed - eventually!
Scott
Did you use the frequencies I posted with the additional squelch channel? If so, they should all work just fine on channel one, including Gordy's.
