Scott
They do mate aye it's terrible stuff. Soon as I left the BP my car wouldn't boost it coughed and farted straight away. Drove normal off boost but it was awful on the car. Cost me £50 to get it drained and a new fuel filter. Never again if I'm stuck I'd use 95 and nurse it. £50 plus the fuel lol. I'd have gritted my teeth and nursed it till empty
gordy.r
I remember the BP garage down in Portsmouth used to sell 102 Ron track day fuel, but it was about £2.45 a litre and this was in the days when Shell Optimax was 90p a litre lol

Marcus GTE
From the Gulf website; "We market premium unleaded and premium diesel fuels under the Endurance brand. These grades cater for motorists who only want the very best for their cars. Whilst a niche sales opportunity, the margins can be compelling and the target market very loyal. At the top end we have our specialist fuel, Endurance 102: a premium grade, higher-octane fuel which is used at Silverstone, the home of British motor racing." Just called the gulf garage in broadford, their super unleaded is rated at 97 RON, so that will be fine for us I guess. It lets us know that between shell in Glasgow and Gulf in Skye we are pretty well covered.
Ross C
95 is only any good for off boost driving. Driving on boost is very dangerous for the engine, causes det on boost. Lucky I drive like Westy. Off boost all the time

Marcus GTE
For those who haven't been to Skye yet, or for those that love it like I do, here is an idea of what to expect when we get up there. Skye in all it's glory;

Skye in all it's glory; Seen that before. Absolutely epic place. A lot of it looks unspoiled from the days of the Dinosaurs really beautiful. I remember being up there last on the bike and had to force myself to actually watch the road ahead. The views are stunning.

We said that last year too Tony, sometimes it's hard to keep your concentration because if the jaw dropping scenery you get continually faced with. Some good news for our route too, as a single lane section of the A82 at Loch Lomond where there were previously "temporary" traffic lights for 35 years!- has just been made a dual lane. http://m.stv.tv/news/west-central/1320105-traffic-lights-removed-from-a82-highland-road-at-pulpit-rock-after-35-years/

SPG
Can't believe this is during the week and not a weekend, absolutely gutted. Would have been great to make it. Am sure it will be amazing. For whatever reason I assumed this was over a weekend. Won't be able to make it during the week unfortunately Guys the Midweek date is for August due to it being a busier period. If it doesn't work then we have a weekend date in Sept to fall back on, just after the peak season . struggling for hols this year, if I dont end up going anywhere this year Ill be up for this. Would be great to see you at the event Naz , I am meaning to post this in the Supra Chat section to see if anyone would be interested, although I don't want anyone getting a nose bleed sending them this far north

Marcus GTE
That's a shame a few folk have thought it was the weekend and are now disappointed. The thinking behind it was there was a concern with the roads being a bit congested at this peak time of the season up there, with caravans blocking the roads etc and the thoughts were it would be better to avoid the weekend. However we hear you guys and appreciate the complications above just getting time off work. Leave it with us and we will make a decision on the dates soon. There will probably always be at least one day needed off for this to work though to be forewarned Tony, I've neither been to the fairy pools or old man of storr, have you? Seriously looking forward to seeing them both (individually on separate trips or together) Supra UFO, it would be an epic trip for you, that's for sure

Scott
We can definitely make a weekend. Will depend on lots of factors but I've spoken to the Wife and we are well up for this. Let me know when things are concrete so that I can book for the overnights etc. Couple of questions..... When would we be leaving on the Friday (Little girls first week at school ends on the Friday). What are the plans for the second night? Carry out? Pub? Sitting in the sky bubble singing kumbaya? When would we be leaving on the Sunday? (Got to think about picking up wee girl, school on Monday). Cheers
Marcus GTE
Still good Never in doubt We can definitely make a weekend. Cheers It's to be an early departure on Friday, but we are aiming to meet/ stop for breakfast at the green welly services on the road up there so it might suit you timing wise to meet us there (what time are you done with school duties?) either that or catch up on route? We will be stopping in dornie too. As for the 2nd night it's an open floor, but we will more than likely be having dinner and a few drinks in the nearby hotel and there is also the potential for beers in the dome etc, however the place has concerns about large groups of guys getting rowdy so a few cans will be fine.
