JasonR24
As its voting day tomorrow I thought I'd share this just so people can check to see who best represents them. I'm not trying to start a debate this is just a good tool to show what policies best represent you and what party you may be better off voting for because of it. I like this because it gives a much better political overview of the country than Lord Ashcroft's "poll". Here is how the UK sits from 710k people who have taken this survey: As you can see it's really close. I think people may be intrigued to see what party they align with more, rather than the old out dated view of voting the same regardless and not really knowing who is better. There is a lot of information out there, so definitely check against parties policies. The website is below: https://voteforpolicies.org.uk Just to reiterate this isn't a debate in starting and I'm not taking sides, i just found this a really interesting tool. Happy voting guys
The Raven
Everyone I do comes up with ukip. So I guess that's where I'm heading
JasonR24
It's always good to mix and match between issues that may be important to you. To get a more varied percentage of what parties policies are most relevant to you.

JasonR24
Do a screen shot of your results if you can. This is mine after doing the whole 50 min (doesn't actually take that long) survey with all of the issues looked at:

Chris88
Tried it several times and it always seems to come out with the party I will be voting for tomorrow so I suppose it must be a reasonable tool.
Scott-tt
That just confused things even more. I don't know what to do tomorrow. I'm a strong believer if you can't make an informed decision then don't vote for the sake of voting
JasonR24
That just confused things even more. I don't know what to do tomorrow. I'm a strong believer if you can't make an informed decision then don't vote for the sake of voting I think it's important to have a say. Personally I don't believe the two party race is good for the people anymore so it's good that people are starting to vote for the alternatives. Having said that. Vote what you believe is right. One thing I will say is a lot of accusations are thrown about involving the countries debt etc but do research before you listen to it, focus on the future and don't we swayed by anyone saying "they can't win here" it doesn't matter, if everyone did that then it wouldn't be democracy, too many people stuck in their ways. If all else fails and you don't believe it anyone then cast a vote of no confidence by spoiling your ballot, this classes as a no vote. Hope this helps! j_jza80
It's a broken system that gives power to the very worst in society, and lets them keep it. Looking at the polls, the SNP may have around 50 MPs with approximately 1 million votes. UKIP will have around 4 MPs with 4 million votes. Similar story with the Lib Dems, who will have a much greater number of MPs than say the Greens, even though they won't get many more votes (relatively speaking) I wasn't going to vote, but I'll take your test and see what it says

I agree the system is totally broken. As I've said I think it's time we voted someone new in although most will be stuck in their ways. Personally, I don't like the Ashcroft Poll because he makes out like he's unbiased but he's a conservative in nature and was in the party, also It's not in his interest to be unbiased as he's one that wants a two party race. Either way, I hope the people will decide it's time for change and vote for change.

JasonR24
Oh.... This is why I love this site because it makes people look beyond the media propaganda and look at each parties policies. UKIP have some great policies so there shouldn't be any stigma against them.

JasonR24
Hope everyone has voted! I've voted already. Went with what my result showed. I hope against hope this generation will change politics for the better and stop voting the same way. We need a lot of reform in politics and voting is the only way. Even if it's by a vote of no confidence!
downimpact
I think what the overall results for the UK shows is that our current voting system is broken, parliament should look like that graph, not biased towards the two main parties as it is currently and a few peoples votes worth far more than everyone else's. Chris Wilson
Ed Balls loses his seat to the Conservatives, the final nail, `tis all over, the fat lady has sung. UKIP showed some remarkable support, especially in the north. As for the SNP, it was a whitewash. It will be interesting to see if there's any common ground with them at all. JasonR24
I can't believe so many people voted conservative. The party that has doubled the deficit, doubled the debt and has continually shown a lack of equality, we could solve the deficit by simply fixing loop holes and making people pay their fair share in tax. Now everyone is going to be worse off. They are already talking about internet monitoring acts. They will no doubt make it even harder for the working person while the wealthy get a free pass. Totally disillusioned with politics and this country right now.

Totally disillusioned with politics and this country right now. They are not going to find £40b annually by fixing tax loopholes. We need to stop spending so much. This election should have been easy for Labour, they alone have decided the outcome. Miliband just isn't statesman material, Balls was complicit in Nu Labours spending spree, and I don't think the country is even close to forgiving Labour for Iraq. I just want to see Paddy Ashdown eat his hat And now I see Labour are planning to give pedophile rights supporter Harmann leadership for the time being. Jesus wept. Chris Wilson
Someone mentioned the Conservatives lack of stance on "equality" before. Harmann's husband was complicit with an act of apartheid last week, when as one of a bunch of left wing speakers he addressed a meeting where the audience were rigorously segregated male and female. Personally it doesn't bother me in the least. Golf clubs and the like who do not want female members in bar areas and suchlike are fine by me, too. Hell, it was only quite recently Mere Golf Club in Cheshire were anything other than openly hostile to Jews becoming members. But the hypocrisy of these people is nauseas. As for Ashdown's misplaced arrogance, let the man eat Thorpe's old (brown....) hat!
