ShawnPreece
Hi all, as my Supra project is coming very near to completion (for now anyway) I was thinking about getting a decent digital camera so I can go for a drive in the hills and take some nice scenic pictures of it instead of just using my phone camera. Im not looking to spend a huge amount just somewhere in the £100-£150 really but was wondering what one's you recommend as being the best within this price bracket? either from personal experience or from just knowing about them? I have looked through google and apparently every camera for sale is the best one so just wondering what you all think/recommend?
Thorin
This is a good deal, Canon Powershot SX610 HS - http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cameras/digital-cameras/compact-digital-cameras/canon-powershot-sx610-hs-superzoom-digital-camera-black-10123950-pdt.html?srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~~~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&s_kwcid=AL!3391!3!45242148095!!!g!62367579425!&ef_id=VOcKVQAAAMD8AXoN:20150505124250:s They're at least £180 almost everywhere else, and the Powershot SX are great compact cameras. Virus
Try not to look for compact camera's, if u spend a bit more, u can get yourself a nice reflex camera, they can switch lenses, way more possibilities & you'll have alot nice shots. The one that mason said he has is an extremely good camera. Very easy to use, very reliable & good price @mason: give me a msg incase shawn is not buying it, depending on the price i'll take it bud Cheers William
Mason
I'd probably be looking at £200 but it would come with a camera bag, short and long lens, flash etc so no idea what postage would be

supra_ufo
personaly i would buy a 2nd hand camera, you get better kit for the money. You might be able to get a canon 550D for that budget.
Mason
Exactly, second hand you will deffo get more for your money....if you do buy a digital SLR ask for the shutter count, I think around 200,000 or something they need a good service and something or other inside replaced, I'm currently on about 6,
ShawnPreece
Yeah thats a very good idea to go for a second hand one to get better value for money, that is a great price Mason and a brilliant camera so thankyou for the offer but is still a little more than I was hoping to spend sorry, the camera is definitely worth it just im wanting something that is a good upgrade from a phone camera to get some good pics but im no photographer so the extra's that are on the really good camera's would be wasted on me lol
Mason
Ha no problem, the options are great when you are feeling brave enough to try them at for the first time..long exposure shots like this (not my photo) are great to keep of your car... http://www.wallpaperfo.com/thumbnails/detail/20120429/streets%20night%20cars%20roads%20long%20exposure%20nissan%20370z%201920x1080%20wallpaper_www.wallpaperfo.com_36.jpg I would say that most pocket cameras around the £150 range these days can be outshun by most modern phone cameras, they just keep getting better and better....the pixel count plays a good part on the quality but it's the glass that matters imo

I saw one of these on Amazon earlier actually mate and is probably the one il go with, looked great value for money so especially now it's been recommended aswell think il go for it
ripped_fear
I saw one of these on Amazon earlier actually mate and is probably the one il go with, looked great value for money so especially now it's been recommended aswell think il go for it They are great for the price. I have owned two and bought one slightly higher spec for my partner the other year. Really good for easing you into playing around with settings. But still good in auto. You can still play with shutter speeds, appature, macro modes etc so similar to a dslr but not as good obviously. Also they arnt too bulky so don't weigh alot around your neck but obviously they won't fit in your pocket so not quiet as convenient depending on the situation. The Nikon bridges also seem great for the price but you don't get the small lenses. You only get the screen which massively puts me off. If you go for one invest in some good rechargeable battery's though as normally ones don't last very well.
