Guest Nicke06
Hi guys, I'm fairly new to the forum, but figured it would be the best place to ask the question. I have done a lot of reading previous threads about delimiters but non relate to the issue I'm having. So I recently bought a jap spec TT auto pre vvti from Torque GT. After some research I requested for a de limiter to be fitted to the car before I collected it. After collecting and driving hundreds of miles home, I realised the odo reader was not increasing in miles. Apart from that everything else seemed okay. I then spent hours detailing the car, and this week is the first time I have drove the car properly. Anyway to cut a long story short, iv now realised that the car hits a limiter when driven hard at 85-90mph and will not shift into third gear. However if you feather it up to 85-90 it will keep going past it no problem and change gear. Once taken past 100 it then becomes to feel abit light and unstable. Today I took it to a local specialist and they retired the odo reader which now works. The mph also reads correctly. However it still seems to have a limited at 85-90mph. The delimiter is a speedm8 and there seems to be no wire running to the ecu. Could anyone shed abit of light to wether it actually has a delimiter fitted before I go back to Torque GT? And no I don't drive like an idiot I just want the car to be right, otherwise I would of just stuck with my van! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Guest Nicke06
It will be behind the dash mate tee off the plug for the odo plug and speedo, Had the dash off today mate and everything is working fine behind there. But it's still limited to 85-90mph when giving it beans
supra matt
The limit is 112 so if it goes over that then yes it has one
supra matt
Have you got manual mode on? Also check to see if there is any fault codes stored
Guest Nicke06
Have you got manual mode on? Also check to see if there is any fault codes stored It will only go over 85-90 if you feather it past it, you carnt slam your foot down. Box is just in drive with overdrive on like normal, will have to check for fault codes.
supra matt
Also check the gearbox oil level when it is hot, is the car standard or modified mate Edited May 2, 2015 by supra matt (see edit history)
Scott
Are you maybe hitting boost cut? Once you get past a ton, can you floor it and get full power?
Guest Nicke06
Are you maybe hitting boost cut? Once you get past a ton, can you floor it and get full power? Car is completely standard. Not sure to be honest, it hits the limiter in 2nd gear then just dosent change into third, surely it's to do with this speedm8 piece they have fitted? But like I say if you go half throttle it will change into third no problem

Deffinatley not boost cut...it basically pulls hard all the way upto the red rpm then bounces off the limiter and won't change up a gear, I would understand at 110mph but this is happening at 85-90? Scott
No idea then, best of luck with it. Remember and post your findings when you get to the bottom of it
supra matt
Can you take a pic of the ecu area mate and the delimiter
Chris88
Sounds like the delimiter is fitted incorrectly and is effecting the signal to the ECU which controls the gearbox shift points. When fitted wrong a delimiter can do lots of different strange things, for example mine works fine unless the shift lever is in '2' and then the speedo just reads zero. Sorry mate I wouldn't know how to take all the clocks out etc, had it looked at yesterday and it's all put back in. That sounds more like it, I think I'm going to contact Torque and find out exactly what they fitted and then get back to you guys. MadMax2042
Take it back to them and I am sure they will sort it out for you. They have been around since circa 2002/
